I do not want to enable auto screenshots. I find it incredibly annoying to look through 100s of screenshots a day for no real reason. Instead, I prefer to have it take screenshots "manually" (but completely automatically) based on suspicious events. And sometimes, these events can occur in close proximity to eachother.

 

Is there any way to make the plugin ignore screenshots taken in close succession?

 

 

2. whitelist

 

now this is just a guess, i have to check it later today.

ReserverdSlots/ServerVIPs are checked by the plugin around every 2 minutes (32 slots. depending on the server load. gonna change this in the future) and when the plugin or the server is started.

i understand you have tested this when your server was almost empty (which is when i would test :-)). then the time between updating the ReserverdSlots is longer. so my guess is: the plugin had not updated its whitelist when the kick/ban happened.

i will test if there is a problem with the whitelist later today.

until then please manually check if your name is in the whitelist.

The server was not nearly empty. There were approximately 10 players (it's a 16 player server) in the server and the server had been online and containing players for a couple hours. The only reason why it may look like a nearly empty server is because I removed all the unnecessary event information from the log I pasted.

i see.

yes, i will add that in the next update (i also had something like that in mind)

i dont know how fast i can add this function. expect it in the next days or so :-)

i just tested and the whitelist works. debug level 2 or above will cause the plugin to report:

PBSSE found whitelisted player, skipping player: playername
please make double sure your ingame soldiers playername (no clantag) is in the plugins whitelist. also check for unneccesary whitespaces in the plugins whitelist.

if you double checked everything and it still doesnt work please tell me. then we have to check this further.

as of now i must say the whitelist works. i just tested and found no error (the plugin reported me as whitelisted)

Our Reserved Slots list is built by an automatic function which checks clan members against their alias in a database provided by the stats plugin XpKiller created. Because of this process, the names are sure to exactly match the player's gamer name.

i have just tested with your whitelist and i must say it works on my server (my "onegrizzlybeer" successfully received SSs were dropped for testing)

please also check that you have the latest version (you most likely did that in the first place i know :-) just to make sure)

i'm sorry, but i dont know where the problem is at the moment, but i try to reproduce it.

 

one thing that could help in reproducing this error is to get a lot of whitelisted players on the same server (which i understand is the case on your server. unlike on my where its ~4 whitelisted players at the same time)

 

it would help alot if you could get as many of your above listed players (your whitelist) on my server, so i could monitor the plugin.

you are all whitelisted and kick/ban is not activated. idle kick is deactivated until 16 players so feel free to idle. this is the only way to reproduce the error i see at the moment.

 

for anyone else who is reading this: can anyone else confirm this error or is the whitelist working for you?

thx for the idea. it is implemented now.

 

As a way to debug this and judge how many folks really are blocking screenshots, enable a LOGGING only feature which would write to the default log folder.

this is now also available. however i would advise to only use the logfile function on your local computer (not your procon parent layer server)

Thanks for implementing so many of our requests.

Checking previous logs to see if we've caught any blockers yet... just updated to the version with dedicated logging. This will make it much easier.

Yes, you see it correct. This player has a space in his name.

now that is a good trick :-) i thought spaces were not allowed but you are right. i found at least 2 more players that have spaces in their names (1 of them has only a pc account. are spaces allowed in origon names? like having an account name in origin with spaces and then you get that name as a playername in bf3...i dunno :-)).

 

i will release an update today to fix this (succesfully received screenshots were not identified correctly like you said)

Player name

The "player name" (referred to as "Soldier name" in-game) is the persona name which the player chose when logging in to EA Online. The exact specification of a player name (length, valid characters, etc.) is currently unclear.

Yeah, that has been in the server docs since the first docs were published, a year ago.

But when I try to change my name I cannot use spaces :ohmy:

unfortunately this is not possible. every pbss (including black) has a unique md5 (visible in the punkbuster log). so there is no way for procon to detect a black pbss.

when the origin issue legate mentioned is fixed, you can use http://www.pbscreens.com/ to detect black pbss

 

Could be an interesting feature but at this time the 90% of PBSS are black and is Origin's issue not cheats...

this message tells you that the pb screenshot could not be taken (timed out after a certain time period). the reason for this is most likely (99%) the player left before the screenshot was taken. (note that it takes some time from clicking "trigger pb screenshot" to the screenshot being actually taken)

 

you should not worry too much about these messages. PBSSE will make sure that players with 4 requested pb screenshots deliver at least 1 succesful pb ss. players that leave the server are cleaned from the internal playerlist.

      Changes to US-East:

If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January.       I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully. 

      We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

      We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

      Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

      Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.



      If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.


      Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.


      Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.




      Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.


      Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.


      Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.


      Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes. 


      Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.


      Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.




      Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month


      As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.





      All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.
