Procon Layer stuck in restart stage

Hey all, 

 

just got my BF4 server set up through Nitrado a few days ago but after trying to restart the Procon Layer through the Nitrado interface it is stuck on restart loop. 

 

typically when i've restarted the Procon layer in the past it has only been ~5mins to regain connectivity via the procon/FTP client, but so far its been about 2.5 hours and i still am unable to connect.

 

I spoke with Nitrado support team and they informed me:

1. "unfortunately, since it's a third party tool, we do not have a way to troubleshoot or provide support to the Procon Layer"

2. "at the moment, we got a report on the Procon Layer having an internal update causing it to be on restart for a while."

 

they advised me to wait for the update to be finished, but i wanted to ask around and see if anyone else is experiencing similar issues and if waiting it out is all i can do for now.

You are not alone, since Nitrado changed a lot on the 25th of last month nothing has worked right.

Half the time I cannot log into procon on my PC, even when the procon layer is running on the server...

I sued to be able to FTP into the server and access the procon folders, but now they changed the way you log in, and since then I have not been able to get in...

 

I wonder if it has anything to do with GGC in litigations with them for screwing them over and shutting them out of the servers that had their data to run their non profit anti cheat streaming service.....

All I know is if they cannot fix this soon I am going to move to Fragnet or anywhere else but Nitrado, I have never had a worse time trying to run a server before, and I am 15 years in, since BF2142....

You have to pay for EZ Rcon right?

Not that I have an issue paying for it, just how can one use that, if they cannot access anything on an FTP side of things, meaning I am betting the OP cannot use FileZilla to FTP into the server, so how does one set EX Rcon up if we have no access FTP wise.. ?

Ezrcon procon layer management has a file browser along with a sftp server to connect to your layer with. You can try it out for free for a month by clicking on get free trial on the homepage

One question though, Nitrado has a procon layer installed, but unless that is working correctly then you still cannot connect to the server right?

Because right now the OP, and my procon layer is stuck in a constant restart, it will not come up..

Nope, their procon layer doesn't after any other procon layer. As long as it can connect to your game server you should be good.

Thanks for the replies guys.

 

I conveniently started taking a look at Nitrado's refund policies and found out i was within the 3-day period for a full refund, so i went with that option. 

 

I ended up taking my money over to i3D, and the experience has been miles better so far (despite their awful UI lol)

 

I'd recommend severing ties with Nitrado if possible.

Hey all just registered here,
Have the same issues with BFHL on Nitrado glad I found this post. As far as Nitrado support goes I'm still waiting for a proper response as they initially thought i had issues with the game connection. I looked on their forums and found several posts about the procon layer being down starting in October with no apparent resolution or follow up posts to be found.
Maybe ill look into i3d as well if they don't figure it out pretty quick I only went with a 30 day plan, which ever comes first i guess.

Not sure if i went in the right direction I signed up for the free account, just to see if it works as nitrado has left a sour taste in my mouth. Once I get some creds and can test the functionality ill likely upgrade, I'm doing all this for my two boys they seem to love hardline and it's an easy game for them to get into the series.  I know the games dead but this is what makes procon a vital tool.  I also received the 3rd party canned response response from nitrado if they can't support tools (3rd party or not)in their own control panel i'm f***** done with them.

Creds are located under Configs/accounts.cfg as well as in the initial email.

They are provisioned at first install. Did the email not mention that? If not then I'll need to fix that.

Sorry I may be missing something,

In the 3rd email i received  with subject  "Procon Layer Login Instructions"

 it mentions being able to acces the panel at my.ezscale.cloud

Then says i will receive an email on setting up please be on the lookout.. that's as far as i got  if i try to log into the my.ezscale.cloud panel with the same creds as ezrcon it doesn't work so i'm at a stand still.

Check if the email got sent to your spam folder. The two accounts are separate from each other unfortunately. If you did not get the password reset email from the client portal system (not the billing system) then I can issue a temp password.

      We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

      You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)


      Rust (From $3.20 USD)


      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)


      Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)


      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)


      Squad (From $9.00 USD)


      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)


      Changes to US-East:

      Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

      Hello All,

      I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully. 

      We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

      We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

      I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

      Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

      Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.



      If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.


      Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.


      Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.




      Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.


      Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.


      Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.


      Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes. 


      Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.


      Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.




      Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month


      As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.





      All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.
