If they modify the map list in procon, how will the plug in react?

Will it add the map to the current list? permanently? temporarily? Will it switch back to the set maplist?

Will it crash?

Cheers!

Yeah, Polak is right. If you modify the list in PRoCon, it will just change back to the map list specified in the plugin when the current round ends.

  • Due to a server bug, if you have the plugin switch to a rotation that includes a Rush or Assault map while more than 32 players are online, all but 32 players will be kicked from the server. The same applies for map rotations including TDM maps with more than 24 players online, Squad Deathmatch maps with more than 16 players online, and Squad Rush maps with more than 8 players online. Ensure that your minimums and maximums are set up appropriately to avoid losing players!

I was wondering about these lines in the description.

I just received the plugin, and I am starting testing as we speak.

I plan on using the Ultimate map manager and the adaptive server size together, running one "recruiting" maplist w/o B2K and one with the best maps imo of all B2K included, when the server reaches the desired population.

The only gamemode I would like to include except conquest (which is REAL Battlefield to me..) is rush.

My question is whether i will lose all but 32 players if I load a maplist with rush maps in it, or will the values set by adaptive server size overrule the rush 32 playerlimit?

Plugin looks great btw! I am hoping it will help out with the B2K-population issue!

If there are more than 32 players on the server when you switch to the map list with the Rush map(s) in it, you will lose all but 32 players. As such, I'd recommend having that map list already in place before there are more than 32 players.

But it seems this will cause losing all players when it change maplist? I guess this is what you mean the know issue, is it?

And if so, do you have any suggestion on that? Why I put my setting like this is because: people like OP metro so much, and showing a 24x7 OP metro on battlelog could always feed the server very quickly.

Or can I do this:

Put multiple OP metro in the maplist, say 20, and put my CQ large and rush mix in the same maplist after the 20s OP metro; When player number is higher than 56, then it jump to the 21th map in the rotation instead of another maplist, in that way I can avoid losing players. But I am not sure do u have that function included.

Best

Yes, that's the issue, and there's not much you can do about it using the plugin.

You could do this, and it would probably work, but the plugin wouldn't really help you accomplish it.

It seems something regarding this could have been fixed in the patch. Procon used to have a 32 player limit when you had rush maps before although Battlelog showed up to 64. But after the R20 patch procon now refers to the server with the vars.maxplayers value even though rush maps are included in the map cycle. Haven't been able to test with the plugin yet.

Currently I have it set as

Maplist 0 0-24 players - Base BF3 Team Death Match maps

Maplist 1 16-48 players - Mix of Base BF3 Rush and Conquest64 maps

Maplist 2 32-64 players - Mix of Base BF3 Rush and Conquest64 maps with some B2K maps also.

When the server reached 32 players about half way through the round I expected it to change maplists. Instead another round was played of Team Death Match before the map cycle changed.

Is there a way to speed up the maplist changes?

Thanks.

Trying again.....

Is there anyway to speed up Ultimate Map Manager and change maplist mid-round as soon as the playercount reaches the Maximum Number of Players limit? Problem right now is for some reason its only changing after the current round has finished. By which time its too late to load the new maplist so the next map on the first maplist is played.

Yesterday my server hit 32 players halfway through a round but instead of moving to maplist 1 it played another map from maplist 0.

My setup:

Maplist 0, 0-24 players - Base BF3 Team Death Match maps only

Maplist 1, 16-48 players - Base BF3 Rush and Conquest64 maps

Maplist 2, 32-64 players - Base BF3 Rush and Conquest64 maps with some B2K maps also.

Any help appreciated

You do have the option to change instantly buy would you want to? You will just P a lot of players off who wish to finish the round?

By default, it changes at the end of the round. If you enable the "Switch to new map list immediately_" option, it will switch immediately.

One other question. After a server restart. Ultimate Map Manager didn't change the maplist to how it was configured in Ultimate Map Manager for 2 rounds. Only one player joined in that time to practice flying. Seems strange that Ultimate Map Manager didn't switch the maplist when Procon reconnected. I expected Ultimate Map Manager to switch to Maplist 0 right away.

And for what its worth. It does indeed seem that the BF3 R20 update correctly displays the max server size. 43/64 instead of 43/32 like in the past for maplists with rush and conquest64 maps. When I was testing before the server changed from Metro rush32 with 49/64 to a mixed rush/conquest64 maplist with only 6 people leaving between rounds

By default, the plugin will not change the map list until the end of the round. However, it should change it if the server is empty. Without proper logs, it's difficult to know what happened or to diagnose a problem.

When I set the plugin to switch immediately, the entire maplist is changed and shows up in procon and BL. However when it after a round of "recruiting" goes to my next maplist including B2K it shows only the two first maps in the new cycle.... Gulf of oman and Caspian.

Anyway to change this to showing the entire mapcycle?

There's no way to control what shows in Battlelog. If the map list is correct in PRoCon, but not on Battlelog, you should report it as a bug to EA/DICE.

The plugin console shows

UltimateMapManager: INFO -> Round ended.

UltimateMapManager: INFO -> Round ended.

UltimateMapManager: INFO -> Round ended.

UltimateMapManager: INFO -> Round ended.

at every round end, I see the player number is 64(full). Usually, it should show:

UltimateMapManager: TASK -> 56 players. Need to change to Map List 1 [New Map List].

but it only said "Round ended", it's not detecting player number, what's the problem?

With the information you've provided, I have no idea. I would need to see screenshots of your plugin settings (or the lines from your config file), and if nothing looks wrong there, I'd need complete logs. Refer to the Support section of the first post for details about what is needed to properly diagnose problems.

Have you updated the BF3.def file since the patch was released? If not, that's your problem. You can download it here: http://www.phogue.net/forumvb/showth...ll=1#post45277*

  • Our picks

    • Game Server Hosting:

We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)

      Rust (From $3.20 USD)

      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)

Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)

      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)

      Squad (From $9.00 USD)

      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)

      Changes to US-East:

Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

    • Hello All,

I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully.

We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • Added ability to disable the new API check for player country info

      Updated GeoIP database file

      Removed usage sending stats

      Added EZRCON ad banner

If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

      procon.private.options.UseGeoIpFileOnly False
      procon.private.options.BlockRssFeedNews False

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.

If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.

Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.

Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.

Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.

Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.

Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.

Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes.

Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.

Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.

Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month

As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.

All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

If you would like to see how much it would cost for the services, I made a calculator that you can use. It can be found here https://ezrcon.com/calculator.html

    • I have pushed out a new minor release which updates the geodata pull (flags in the playerlisting). This should be way more accurate now. As always, please let me know if any problems show up.
