NOTE FOR BF4 R26 VERSION AND LATER

It is no longer necessary to set the vars.preset command over and over again. Just set it once in your startup.txt.

DESCRIPTION

Use this plugin to define RCON command tasks that are repeated at a set interval of seconds. For example, if you want to insure the vars.gameModeCounter 200 is executed every 10 minutes, you can use this plugin to do that.

All commands are executed at the same time after the interval delay has expired. It is not possible to set a different interval for each command with this plugin.

You may use this instead of using pb_sv_task to repeat commands at an interval. The advantage is that this is easier to use and setup. The disadvantage is that it only works as long as Procon is connected to your game server.

Enter each command on a separate line, as you would in the RCON console of Procon, separated by spaces, and using quotes for strings where required, such as:

Code:

admin.say "Welcome to the best server in the world!" all
By default, the command list already contains the now obsolete (R26) BF4 command:

Code:

vars.preset "Normal"
You should delete the default and change the list to some other commands.

You may change, delete, or add to that list in any way that you want.

Change Log

1.0.0.1

- Initial version

1.0.0.2

- Added more documentation to the plugin Details tab

- Reduced the default command list to just vars.preset "Normal"; having vars.gameModeCounter 75 might confuse people.

Yes, but it might also make your server be Custom in Battlelog.

vars.preset can change vars.gameModeCounter.

Basically, you can either be Normal in Battlelog and have default tickets, or you can have large tickets and be Custom in Battlelog. Doing both, Normal and large tickets, is possible (I think), but it requires a different plugin than this to do that.

To make sure it stays Normal, you need to run the next map. I have noticed that when you run the next map, it either changes to Custom or it resets vars.gameModeCounter to 100. So the next map will have small tickets if it is Normal.

Im scared to change something because i actualy dont realy know how i have done it.

What is did is using your plugin with the vars.preset "normal" and gamemodecounter at 200. This made my server normal, the tickets stayed at 100%. Then in procon i adjusted the counter into 200% and applyed. The next round i had 200 Tickets and normal preset......

Interesting, it works with your plugin though, I just downloaded it and it set our server back to normal! Any idea why it wasn't working manually for me (From my layer)?

Thank you PC9, you just made my server alive again for the night.

Edit:

Apparently from layer it won't work but direct from rcon it does... I didn't know that.

Thank you again, this plugin will be useful.

I have it by default at 600 seconds interval and Debug level 2.

Edit:

I don't know why but by default it had vars.preset "Normal"/.

I removed that / and it worked, this plugin will be very useful to make sure my server never goes into custom again.

Thx Sempa

If you read my post #16, you will see you CAN'T run commands from the Layer, you have to do it via direct connection to your gameserver's IP.

That's strange. Anyone else see this after installing the plugin for the first time? I tested 1.0.0.2 on a new Procon connection to make sure the default didn't have errors like that, but it is possible I missed something.

If other people are seeing the same thing, I'll post a change, though the code looks okay to me.

Do we know why commands are having to go directly to the server and NOT usable through the procon layer? It was my understanding that there is no difference between a layer server and a direct procon connection OTHER than 1 is managed and allows other admins to connect to it to issue commands and one is (obviously) a simple, direct connection. Functionally I thought they were supposed to be identical.

Probably a mistake on my end.

For me this has worked perfectly and I am using the plugin layer.

I'm still using the first version of the plugin.

Magic or luck ... lol

The plugin works fine on layer, what I mean is you CAN'T manually type commands on the Console tab as it'll say unknown commands, you have to use direct connect for that.

As I understand it, it's just a known issue/bug in this version of Procon. The layer and local client talk to each other over the network. In order to prevent the client from messing up all the other clients connected to the layer, not to mention the game server, the Procon layer inspects the commands you try to send it. Unfortunately, that code isn't update to BF4 yet, or something like that, so it doesn't recognize the command.

When you are directly connected to the game server, that check is not used.

This is what I recall from what a Procon dev typed in another post, which I can't find at the moment. So I might be partly or mostly incorrect.

I tried everything but i cannot get my server on hardcore, at least not shown as in the battlelog, its always displayed as custom! here are my settings in the startup file of my server:

# Your choices here are offical, ranked, unranked, private

# # Offical servers will not allow you to change many configuration settings,

# # Unranked/private will allow you to change even more configuration settings

  • Our picks

    • Game Server Hosting:

We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)

      Rust (From $3.20 USD)

      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)

Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)

      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)

      Squad (From $9.00 USD)

      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)

      Changes to US-East:

Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

    • Hello All,

I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully.

We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • Added ability to disable the new API check for player country info

      Updated GeoIP database file

      Removed usage sending stats

      Added EZRCON ad banner

If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

      procon.private.options.UseGeoIpFileOnly False
      procon.private.options.BlockRssFeedNews False

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.

If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.

Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.

Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.

Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.

Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.

Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.

Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes.

Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.

Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.

Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month

As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.

All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

If you would like to see how much it would cost for the services, I made a calculator that you can use. It can be found here https://ezrcon.com/calculator.html

    • I have pushed out a new minor release which updates the geodata pull (flags in the playerlisting). This should be way more accurate now. As always, please let me know if any problems show up.
