Plugin Description:

This plugin is used to autobalance Teams in BF3 (All modes except SquadDeathMatch)

There are 3 major parts within TrueBalancer:

 

1. PlayerNumber - Balancer

- The PN-Balancer try to keep the teams even by playernumber. Eg: 30vs30

 

2. Skill- Scrambler

- The Scrambler trys to even out the teams at roundend by skill. Eg: Even out the teams by SPM, Skill, K/D...

 

3. Balancing Guard

- Balancing Guard trys to keep teams even by skill during the game. He sorts new players to the teams they fit best and doesn't allow players to switch into the other team if they would unbalance the teams by PlayerNumber or Skill. In all Conquest Modes and TDM - Modes Balancing Guard doesn't allow winning team switching.

 

IMPORTANT:

If you are running the plugins in sandboxmode, make sure you have these ports open:

InGame Commands

@scramblenow: Will scramble the teams now. Use with caution. This will make players angry.

@scrambleround: Will scramble the teams at roundend.

Some BalancingGuard - Examples:

 

1. BalancingGuard trying to even out the teams. A bad new player (Skill: 185,76 and is below 292,06 -> declared as bad player) joines the server. He would have gotten into the bad team but is moved to the better team to even teams out.

2. Balancing Guard does not allow winning Team switching. Here we have a TeamSwitcher (a pretty god player) trying to switch into the winning (better) team.

Known Issues:

- While BalancingGuard is turned on, no players can be moved by an admin, if the admin would unbalance the teams by playernumber or skill with that playermove. Solution: Turn off BalancingGuard while trying to move players and than afterwards turn it back on or use TB's own movecommands ingame.

truebalancer and multibalancer provide functions that are similar, but they differ in some details.

 

tb tries to balance players also when they are joining the server (fetching their stats and analyzing it). this is done by a thing called tb-value consisting of your rank, skill, kd, spm and combat spm.

so balance is asured right from the start.

 

multibalancer is a live balancer. it will balance players depending on their in-round stats (correct me if im wrong).

 

both provide pros and cons, let me give you some examples:

tb provides decent balance based on stats. so teams will be equal. however if good players just fool around and bad players have a really good this might not work 100%.

tb does not provide balance based on in round stats.

 

if you are using multibalancer and you are happy with the result, you can stick with it. its good.

if you have been using tbin bf3, you should defenitly try tb for bf4. tb has been providing awesome balancing since the start of bf3

 

Great to see that True balancer is back, it is a fantastic balancing tool, we used it in BF3 with great pleasure :smile:

 

I have one question, I can't find Domination game mode in the plugin, is it going as Conquest or has it just been forgotten in the making?

Can it be made so that the true balancer only works on join and between the rounds? And that multibalancer handles the live play? Perhaps you can add this in an future update?

I tried it for my BF4 server and it seems to NOT work, I watched your videos and configured all the setting correctly however there was no display of any moves at all and the teams ended up really unbalanced.

if all debug modes are off (5. debugwindow output) no msgs will be shown at all, except for errors.

 

moves will be shown in the chat window like this:

[13:50:37] AUTOBALANCING [Player: VP_RIMPAC]

 

for rounds ending up not being balanced: tb tried, i can asure that :-)

if you want numbers turn on debug mode for balancing guard, then you can see the tbvalue (and kd, skill and so on) for every player and the whole team in the plugin output. like mentioned above somewhere balancing by stats has pros and cons. but be sure that tb will make the statistic difference between the teams smaller. you probably would have experienced an even more unbalanced round without tb

It's the above/below threshold for team size differences. Below "24" is one setting, and above "24" would be the other.

We run ours at 32, 1 player diff below, 2 player diff above, and it works well like that.

Not to mention the plugin itself. Your GetPluginVersion should return "major.minor.patch.rev" format, e.g., 0.0.5.0, in order for the anonymous usage statistics database to work properly.

 

Currently returns: "0.5 RC".

grizzly, with Manual commands via procon it asks if you're sure about scrambling, when I select yes it reverts back to no, is this a bug? Also, could you make debug adjustable so not so much spam, I do like to see what's happening but normal balancing seems to go berserk with output.

by confirming the second question "are you sure_". you tell the tb to scramble the teams when this round ends. there is no confirmation in the debug window output but only ingame.

that would be beyond the scope of this plugin sorry.

you should be able to move the players with procon gui or with the ingame commands

      Changes to US-East:

If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

      I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully. 

      We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

      We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

      Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

      Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.



      If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.


      Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.


      Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.




      Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.


      Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.


      Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.


      Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes. 


      Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.


      Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.




      Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month


      As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.





      All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.
