I want to try it out with your balancer :P

Your post was very informative. I'm sure the developer will be able to fix your problem quickly with all the info you provided. Maybe you should explain why you think the plugin is not working and what you want it to do. Perhaps you should learn how to send a proper bug report also. Just sayin

Thanks......thought I was just overlooking it. Hopefully sqdm will be added in the near future for this plug-in as well.

And can you add Disperse Evenly List like MULTIbalancer?

At us are playing teams such as fnatic, MYM, TOPACHAT and more more. I want them to be balanced with each other and played in his team, rather than dispersion by different teams.

I run a 32-man server at max tickets on conquest large, and this plugin works well for helping rounds run out to the bitter end.

Since the rounds are so long, we tend to have a big turnover at the end, so the way TB uses incoming stats to even teams up as new people arrive works out well. I'm surprised watching the debugging output at just how close it keeps the stat balance between the teams most of the time. And it seems to work; the fights wind up feeling actually pretty even in terms of how they play out. I also like that it balances people up front and them mostly leaves them be, except to even team numbers.

It's also easy to set up. The only thing I would wish for is a config variable to let me change the message that is sent to players when they run afoul of Balance Guard. All the other messages are exposed in the options, I think. But I found that to change this one I would have to edit the code, which I don't really want to do. I'd like to just remove the "SHAME ON YOU!" part at the end of that message.

Anyway, it works really well, and I thank you for keeping it maintained.

That message can be edited as soon as you put "Enable Shame Message_" on "Yes". You find that setting in section 3. Balancing Guard => "CQ/TDM - Enable Shame Message_"

Thanks much. I saw that option and the message that it exposes, but I thought it was something different. My understanding what that adding "Yes" would cause the "shame message" to be broadcasted to the server, which I did not want. But I'll see if editing the text of it also changes what is sent to the individual when a move is blocked.

I tried editing this, but I think it only changes the broadcast message, which I don't want to enable. When I see chat logged for blocked team switches, it is still using another message that I think is hardcoded somewhere and not exposed in the options, to send a private chat message to the individual player. It's not a big deal though, just would be nice to be able to change it.

Well, as you said there is a "shame message" option.

If you set "shame message" to yes, then you can edit a string that has a name substitution in it, and it reads by default "%Teamswitcher% tried to switch to the winning team. SHAME ON YOU!" From the wording and the fact that the option is called "shame message," it seemed to me like this is something that, if you turn it on, will be sent via a say to all players when a team switch is blocked. I never enabled this option.

However, even with that option turned off, I will see chat echoes where the script sends (or I think it sends, anyway) a say message to an individual player that reads something like ", you cannot switch to the winning team. SHAME ON YOU!" The wording is different from the text that is shown by default in the "shame message" option, and I think this text is being sent by a private say to the player when someone is blocked from swapping to the winning team. This seems to me to be something that is buried somewhere in the code, because the message gets sent (and the text doesn't change), regardless of how the "shame message" options are set.

I haven't looked through the code though, so I'm not sure of the line number where this message might be found.

If this is a debug message that only shows up in the procon echo, then it doesn't really affect anything, but I see it in the "chat" log tab of procon, where the other messages like the ones about autobalancing appear, not just in the plugin console output.

BalancingGuard: [REDACTED], you are not allowed to switch into the winning team. SHAME ON YOU!

So it's clear that it's using a different template from "shame message," which I currently have set to:

%TeamSwitcher%, switching to the winning team is not allowed.

(Also, I have "shame message" disabled anyway, but the SHAME ON YOU! text still is being sent, somewhere in the balancing guard code.)
