1 - Restore Squad Leaders

Use this feature to restore Squad Leaders after Team Scramble.

For balancing reasons the plug-in doesn't restore Squads structure. This should be done by the Balancing tool, otherwise this plug-in would destroy the Team Scramble between the rounds.

That's the reason why you should primarily use this option with Team Scramble that doesn't destroy Squads.

It was tested with MULTIBalancer's "Keep Squads Together" feature.

 

 

2 - Dismiss Idle Squad Leaders

With this option the plugin gives anyone else Squad Lead if the current Squad Leader is idling.

The old Squad Leader stays in the Squad and a random other player from the Squad takes over Squad Lead. At the moment the new Squad Leader will be chosen randomly. For future updates there will be an option to choose the new Leader based on stats or reputation.

You can choose the Maximum Idle Time in seconds. This value should be >= 30s since Squad Leaders idle times aren't updated faster than that value.

 

 

3 - Dismiss No Orders Squad Leaders

With this option the plugin gives anyone else Squad Lead if the current Squad Leader is giving no Squad Orders.

The old Squad Leader stays in the Squad and a random other player from the Squad takes over Squad Lead. At the moment the new Squad Leader will be chosen randomly. For future updates there will be an option to choose the new Leader based on stats or reputation.

Please note: Only Squad Leader commands via Comme Rose can be counted as Orders.

Use Only on Conquest option to disable this feature on any other game Mode than Conquest.

Maximum waiting time for orders (minutes) determines how long the plug-in waits for Squad Orders before it will warn or remove a Squad Leader.

If you enable Send warnings before dismiss, a Squad Leader will get your selected number of warnings before dismiss.

The interval between the warnings equals the Maximum waiting time for orders (minutes).

You can also choose whether the warnings should be shown as yell message or not.

 

 

4.1 - Squad Command Lead

Enable this option to give players with Reserved Slot List or VIPs (Squad Leader List) the possibility to take over the Squad Lead with !lead command in chat.

You can add VIPs to the Squad Leader List by name (Squad Leader List: Playernames) or by Clan Tag (Squad Leader List: Clan Tags). The Squad Leader List has a higher priority than the Reserved Slot List.

Code:

Squad Leader List >  Reserved Slot List > anyone else
If a Squad Leader is on the Reserved Slot List, someone else from Reserved Slot List can NOT apply for Squad Lead but players from Squad Leader List can do.

If a Squad Leader is on the Squad Leader List, someone else from Reserved Slot or Squad Leader List List can NOT apply for Squad Lead.

With Allow Admins to use this command any time option, every admin can take Squad Lead regardless of whether the current Squad Leader is an Admin, on the Reserved Slot List or VIPs

 

 

4.2 - Squad Command Vote

Squad members can apply for Squad Lead with !newleader command.

Everyone in the Squad will receive messages and can vote for the new Squad Leader with !accept command.

Votes needed: How many !accept votes are needed for a successful vote.

Vote duration (seconds): How long should the vote be active.

Yell vote announcement: Should the vote announcement shown as a yell message?

 

 

4.3 - Squad Command Invite

You can invite players to join your Squad with !invite [playername] command.

Invitees can use !join or !deny command to accept or don't accept the invite.

If the Squad or Team of the player who has invited you is full, Invitees will join a Waiting Queue that will move them to the Team/Squad of the player who has invited you as soon as possible.

The invitee gets the invite message on his next death.

This has the advantage the invitee won't get spammed with yells (if enabled) and chat messages when the invitee is in combat.

It can also prevent most of the kills via admin move command because the invitee won't get killed again after accepting the invite while he/she is waiting to spawn.

Squad Leaders only: Only Squad Leaders can send invites to other players.

Allow Team Switches: Players can invite other players even if they are in the enemy team.

Maximum invites per round: The maximum number of invites a player can send during a round.

Send invite messages how often: Determines how often an invite message should be shown when the invitee is death.

 

 

4.4 - Squad Command GiveLead

If this option is enabled, Squad Leaders can give the leadership to someone else in Squad.

Example: If you are Squad Leader use the command !givelead LumPenPacK to give player LumPenPacK Squad Lead if you are currently Squad Leader.

 

4.5 - Squad Command Regroup

Admins with ""CanMovePlayers"" privileges can use this command to regroup players within a team into a new Squad.

!regroup [group of playernames] selects a group of up to 5 players who will be moved into a new empty squad.

The members of this group will be moved one by one into a new Squad once they are killed. (This will prevent a ""killed by admin"" death due to the admin move command kills players.)

As long as the regroup hasn't been completed, the new Squad is set to private to prevent other players can take the slot for those players from the group who are still waiting for the Squad change.

If a player who is not part of the group is still able to join the new Squad, the plugin will remove him/her from Squad if he/she would use a slot for one of those players who are still waiting for the Squad change.

Optional setting: Only allow regroup command within an existing Squad. This means you can't regroup players from different Squads.

 

 

5 - Squad Unlock

Unlock all Squads feature can be used to force all Squads to be not private.

 

 

6 - Dynamic Messages

Decide whether the plugin should send some chat messages how this plugin can be used by the players.

The messages will be updated automatically depending on the settings you use.

This means if you disable a feature or change a setting the chat message will be updated.

 

 

 

Commands

 

 

!lead

Give you Squad Lead if you're allowed. (Reserved Slot, Squad Leader List)

 

 

!unlead

Give anyone else Squad Lead if you're Squad Leader. The new Squad Leader is chosen randomly.

 

 

!newleader

Start a Vote that ask everyone in Squad if you should be the new Squad Leader.

 

 

!invite [playername]

Invite a player to join your Team/Squad.

 

 

!join

Accept an invite.

 

 

!deny

Don't accept an invite. You can't get any more invites from the player who has invited you this round.

 

 

!givelead [playername]

Give Squad Lead to [playername] if you are currently Squad Leader.

 

 

 

Suggestions and Support

Known Issues

  • It takes a few seconds to restore Squad Leaders on Round start. This time is necessary to rebuild the internal Squads structure.
  • Orders can only be detected if a Squad Leader uses Commo Rose to set Attack/Defent Orders. Commands set without a Commo Rose don't trigger any event that could be captured.

I'll take a look into it. It should be basically no technical problem to add BF3 support as well. There are most likely only too changes between BF3 and BF4.

 

The first one is the Squad size, the second one is the fact that yell messages can't be read when a player is dead in BF3.

 

Both things can be handled but the problem is that I can't really test these things on a server since we don't have our BF3 server anymore.

I don't remember if comarose messages were sent in BF3 either, i don't think they were, so automatic changing of leaders would not be possible either.

To be honest, it doesn't really work in BF4 as well since lots of players don't use the comrose to set commands instead they press Q to mark the next target which doesn't trigger any chat messages.

 

I have disabled this for myself and I would recommend it to use but I didn't know that problem when I added this feature. Maybe I'll remove it completely with the next update.

The "!lead" command is never available for public use because I want to prevent a battle between several players in a Squad stealing their Squad Lead all the time.

 

Instead public players can use the "!newleader" command that starts a vote where other players in the Squad can decide whether they want to accept the new Leader or not.

No, this doesn't work at the moment but I can add this feature if you think it would be useful.

 

Another question this is not adkats right? Just a normal plugin right?

This plugin works without AdKats but I've recognize that AdKats uses some of the same chat commands my plugin uses. I'm thinking about a solution how I could solve this problem.

Yes it will be very useful that we can set the squad leader list with either player's name or platoon TAG. In this way gamer with matching TAG in the list can use those commands. Please advice when you have add this feature.

I haven't seen any conflict with other plugins yet.

 

The only problem I've seen is that AdKats also uses the @lead chat command, so I would recommend to disable this command either in AdKats or in SquadManger.

      Changes to US-East:

      Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January.       I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully. 

      We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

      We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

      Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

      Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.



      If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.


      Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.


      Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.




      Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.


      Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.


      Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.


      Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes. 


      Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.


      Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.




      Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month


      As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.





      All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

    • I have pushed out a new minor release which updates the geodata pull (flags in the playerlisting). This should be way more accurate now. As always, please let me know if any problems show up.
