Any ideas what this problem might be? (apologies for posting three issues in one post earlier, here there are just the two ;-) )

And by a lot, I mean effectively all the end times, and a few start times. Most of the map load times seem valid.

As far as I can see you're MySQL-server does not allow remote host to put things into a database. Change your MySQL config, so that it isn't bound to connections from 127.0.0.1 / localhost, usually found in my.cnf.

This can be done in two ways: you add the remote host as a trusted host or you open MySQL for all external connections (when you're behind a NAT and rerouted port 3306 this could be a security issue, otherwise it wouldn't hurt much.

Your procon sandbox is enabled and blocking you outgoing connections.

Go Tools --> Options --> Plugins --> Databases --> Allow outgoing connections or disable the sandbox.

If you dont have access to your procon layer server you need to ask you hoster.

@CptChaos

his error is not a SQL error. It is an error of the sandbox. Plugin tries to connect to the db which is not allowed by default.

@Geordie_Ben

And again this issue has been asked countless times...

You ODBC Driver on the procon host is missing/not configured.

@beantje

if you webspace contains a mysqldb (in most cases it will) you can run this plugin if the mysql server allows external connections.

@Frakkas

The FAMAS is in the lastest bf3.def, which comes with procon (version 1.1.3.1)

You procon layer properly has an old version of the bf3.def file.

it hase a mysqldb but how do i check if it allows external connections ?

thx

usually you have to allow external connections if you web site has it's own phpmyadmin. Look for something like "remote mysql"

You set up remote connetcions in direct admin:

MySQL Management > Click ont the databasename

At the bottom you can add new hosts that you allow to connect to the database.

Either add the IP of your ProCon-host or use % to allow all remote connections.

If it is one of the bigger hosting companies, he should have a control panel entry for remote connections - I am thinking that is his problem

DirectAdmin is probably the control panel he uses.

I've already posted how to set up remote connection in it.

If it doesn't succeed, ask your hoster to set a trusted remote host for you.

@Beantje:

Yes but I've since found out I used wrong host, I'm using "hosted2.nfoservers.com" and it now seems to work with no apparent errors.

Yes

Some game servers also come with free web space - that will usually work

There are some free web development program that would let you host the database on your own computer if you wanted to, but the database needs to have internet access

Take a look at >>> The Uniform Server

Cool, I have just been onto our website provider and apparently I have unlimited databases.

Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with them.

I'm looking at them now in the host control panel.
