EDIT: sorry, I missed the last page of posts. The layer must need to be restarted.

I have updated the layer, restarted the layer, I even copied the bf3.def file from my local procon to the server configs folder.

I see the maps in procon, but can't add them to my UMM

What am I doing wrong?

I've already explained the solution in this thread multiple times. You must update the BF3.def file in the Configs directory on your layer server because the maps are pulled from this file, which is a part of PRoCon. Don't trust that your SP has done it for you. Do it yourself, then restart the layer server. Also note that the new maps will not appear for every game mode. You must choose a game mode used by the new maps in order to see them.

I've disabled UMM as of now and I'm only running the new maps until the maps show up in the UMM. I'm sure you've already saw the posting. I've updated my server to the R26 as well. I go to the UMM look in Game Mode and nothing but the regular modes. I've then made a new maplist with the same results, no new maps. So, at this time I'm spinning my wheels and by other postings others are, too. Sorry if you feel insulted but that's not my intent. My intent is to get the UMM working.

I've been searching everywhere in my procon folder and on ftp for the BF3.Def file

If you're using a layer:

ftp/layerhome(mines branzone)/configs/bf3.def

Hope that makes since.

or

procon folder/configs/bf3.def

If you get a new file, Procon will tell you. It will also remind you that you need to restart Procon if your BF3.def file is updated.

Going to procon/lists tab/maplist tab only proves that the bf3.def file on your local computer is up to date. Connect your local copy of PRoCon directly to the game server (not layer server) and you'll see that the maps also appear in UMM.

EDIT: I'm not insulted. There's just nothing else I can do. If you'd like to provide me with access to your layer server, I'd be happy to help you resolve the issue.

@Athlon...I tried that, too. No luck says my procon is up to date. :/

I'll keep plugging along without it right now until I figure something out. Thanks

Restart ProCon Layer. Job done.

You can open the BF3.def file with Windows Notepad to see what's in there. If you have the latest version you'll see the new maps and weapons.

Great idea. I done this and now the bf3.def file is updated for sure now. Still no new map modes or maps. I updated the file, restarted procon and bf3 server, and checked the file confirming the maps are there. Still nothing.

Done this and confirmed.

Just a shot in the dark here (because it sounds like you have everything ready to go).......

When building a map list, be sure to choose the correct Game Mode first, then the map. I know you may have done this, but others reading this may be trying to find a new map but not changing the mode from 'Conquest' to 'Gun Master' first for example.

EDIT: Our bits & bytes crossed in cyberspace. Congrats! Glad to see all is well.

1) Upload the BF3.def from your computer to your layer server.

2) Stop your layer server and restart it.

3) Close your local PRoCon client.

4) Open your PRoCon client and reconnect to your layer server after it starts.
