Thank you for this awesome plugin!

One question, something that I was never quite sure of:

Minimum trespass error (10% - 100%)

If I want it to be the most aggressive, so it'll punish the most amount of players (even if they aren't actually base-raping) - should the value be 100% or 10%?

Best regards!

A player has a circle of radius 20m surrounding them, this is due to the error margin DICE apply to player locations.

The percentage represents how much of this circle must be WITHIN the zone for it to be active. So 100% means that no part of the circle can go outside of the zone.

Cool!

Thanks for the prompt reply, Zaeed!

One last question please;

I wish for the following scenario to happen:

1. Playing in a Conquest map

2. A sniper killed an enemy soldier.

3. When he was killed, the enemy soldier was still in his "home-base" - the UnCapturable base.

4. The sniper who killed him was 1,000 meters from that "home-base".

5. The sniper who killed him is punished.

In order for the punishment to take place - should I set the Maximum distance for base camping (meters) value to 1,000?

Thanks again!

I reckon option 2 is the one you're after.

And yes, just set the value really high.. make it 5000 or something.. That would mean that you can't snipe into the uncap from the other side of the map.

So the question is; How can i set a zone covering the whole map without doing the above, will leaving the zone name blank and setting firing from zone to true, be adequate?

Im attempting to do a knife and pistol night for my community, i havent decided if i will disable ranking.

To clarify im not asking you to do something for me, merely if your addon can do this for a knife pistol server, and if so where can i find out about how?

You can't use this plugin to do that. You need to define a zone for it to function.

Perhaps try the wepon/kit limiter plugin instead

My clan has recently installed procon and setup several plugins for use on our BC2 servers. I am currently using the Custom Warning Generator to prevent killing from/ and attacking into the Uncaps. However, I have been noticing several anomolies with players getting warned for kills that are nowhere near the defined zones. I have the distance set at 500 meters and the threshold set at 85%. The only other thing I can think of might be the Zoom. I noticed each map had the zoom values set at different levels and none of them are set a 1.0 x. We are currently using the values that were there at install. If you change the values, it moves/changes the shape of the zone. So maybe my zones are not where I think they are.

What is the purpose of the Zoom feature?

Can you tell me how Zoom effects the zones in each map? What are the recommended values?

If multiple people have different proconn clients open and they have slightly different values in the zoom, is that an issue?

Is there anything else that could be causing (what appears to be) erroneous warnings?

What I would do is get a few clan mates in and do some testing to see where the rule applies. use the battlemap to track where kills appear.

can you tell me what the rules you have are?

2) Attacking from protected Zone-Uncap (Conquest-Russian Army) - Attacking from zone

3) Attacking the protected Zone-Uncap (Conquest-US Army) - Zone being attacked

4) Attacking the protected Zone-Uncap (Conquest-Russian Army) - Zone being attacked

As far as trying the borders with clanmates, we have tried that and for the most part the borders seem to work.

Occassionally players are getting warnings that make no sense.

I have attached an image of my zone map for Laguna Presa. The Map Zoom is set at 2.38 for both x and y. I have seen warnings for kills that occured on the A and B flags.

I have seen warnings for rule #1 when the kill occurred on the A flag. In this instance the killer was inside the small shack south of the flag on the road. The victim was in the building on the north side of the flag.

I have seen warnings for rule #2 when the kill occurred on the B flag. In this instance the killer and victim were on the south side of the metal corrugated fence (where you can cap the flag).

I only asked about the zoom because it affects where the zone is drawn on the map. If I change the zoom and I draw the zone, people who come into the procon client with different zooms see the zone in a completely different place and think the zone is not protecting where we think it should. When you define your zones, what zoom do you use? 1.0x?

I have also been noticing that my temporary Ban length (in minutes) keeps getting reset from 1440 (1 day) to 24. Any ideas on this?

I have the following plugins enabled:

BFBCS Statsphile In-Game API

Chat Filter

Custom Warning Builder

In-Game Admin

Ping Kicker

Reserved Slot Management

Google Translator API

I have noticed that the Chat Filter has a Temporary Ban: Ban Time parameter which is 24, but this is measured in Hours.

Hmmm, thats interesting.. I'll look at the Chat Filter, there may be some shenanigans going on there..

As for the map zoom.. I would guess that the only zoom that would matter would be the one on the server.. not the clients. It's still odd though.. Hopefully on the weekend i'll have some time to check it out..

Well it works for BF3.

However, you need to specify public messages, and don't use Yell.

Zone infringements won't work.

So the plugin is limited to the custom commands functionality.. i.e. creating your own commands.

Put simply, this is an anti base rape mode. You define a no kill area, and punish those who violate it.

This isn't yet available in BF3, since they don't give us kill coordinates.

  • Our picks

    • Game Server Hosting:

We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)

      Rust (From $3.20 USD)

      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)

Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)

      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)

      Squad (From $9.00 USD)

      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)

      Changes to US-East:

Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

    • Hello All,

I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully.

We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • Added ability to disable the new API check for player country info

      Updated GeoIP database file

      Removed usage sending stats

      Added EZRCON ad banner

If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

      procon.private.options.UseGeoIpFileOnly False
      procon.private.options.BlockRssFeedNews False

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.

If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.

Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.

Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.

Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.

Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.

Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.

Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes.

Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.

Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.

Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month

As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.

All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

If you would like to see how much it would cost for the services, I made a calculator that you can use. It can be found here https://ezrcon.com/calculator.html

    • I have pushed out a new minor release which updates the geodata pull (flags in the playerlisting). This should be way more accurate now. As always, please let me know if any problems show up.
