If a plugin can to that for you automatically in Teamspeak, that would be awesome!!!!

You can bind separate keys to talk to separate channels. It kinda works like whisper, except only with channels.

A while back I looked into doing stuff with the whisper list, but TS3 doesn't support doing anything with the whisper list from their API.

This issue is a rarity... and even then, it only seems to target specific people... I've been working diligently to try and fix the issue, but due to the nature of the beast, there's not much information to go on (it's rare/happens to only specific people).

If you have this issue, steam message me! I will work personally with you to try and fix this as soon as possible.

I post this as something of an FYI for anybody else that might want to use this plugin. Also, there is a bit of a request here to find out what hosting companies (per-slot Teamspeak hosting) you guys are using which did not have a problem with this.

As Phogue knows I hate all GSPs, Hypernia is high on my hate list for useless reasons like this.

Questions:

1) Does the username we enter to get a TS3 server key need to be Odin, or can that be anything?

2) Is there some sequence to which gets started first, game server, Procon, and TS3 server? Does the order of start-up or sequence make any difference?

3) When I first start Procon it says my username and password are not correct for the TS3 server, but if I uncheck and recheck then it says connected, etc.

4) Do we need to create the channels on our TS3 server, or let the plugin do that for us?

5) Is there some other step that we need to complete beyond the few in your first post?

So far I have only gotten the plugin to work properly one time, it seemed to be working, created two new channels on my TS3 server, Team 1 and Team 2, then it moved the players around. One player however was moved to the "Lobby" and if moved manually the plugin would keep moving him back to the lobby.

I restarted Procon hoping to correct that problem, and have not been able to make the plugin work again.

What can I do on my end to help you help me?

Thanks!!

This is my console message:

1- It can be anything.

2- No, although it would be beneficial to start TS3 before you enable the plugin. There are some issues when restarting the plugin.

3- When starting up Procon, it takes a while to restore your plugin's settings (all of them). If it takes longer than 10 seconds, then it might say your username/password is wrong.

4- Either, or.

5- Nope. If there were, I'd add it. It wouldn't be a very good tutorial if I left out a step, would it?

As for the issue of the player being moved back to the lobby... The program first matches on IP... then matches based on name... So if the player is using TS from a different computer than they are playing on, it could result in the program thinking they're not the same person. Also, the plugin is kind-of a bully... because it likes to pick on certain players. I'm not sure why, but it always seems to be the same ones. Sometimes it will pick out a player and randomly move them 3-4 times between channels.

The console message indicates that it's working.

1) I think I may have found a bug. apparently if the Yell Message is too long the plugin will not move players. Not sure about that, but I shortened the Yell message and it is working again, at least for now.

2) The player that kept being moved into the Lobby is one of two computers on the same IP address. And I assume that both TS servers are also run on that same IP address. Hopefully we can test this some more today, if I can keep the plugin working this morning.

I'll try to provide more information as I discover it!

I've never heard of it simply stopping, unless the connection to the TS3 server had been interrupted somehow.

FYI Procon and my TS3 server are running on the same machine, a Windows 2003 server.

Perhaps should I try to connect to the TS3 server with a local connection instead of its external IP address?

Yes. This is what I do. I use 127.0.0.1 or localhost.

The plugin still works about 15% of the time for me, even though it connects and appears to be working, but it never moves anyone around, they just sit in the Lobby where they connect.

You have only posted the events right when you start the plugin... which can be misleading because the plugin doesn't have any information about Teamspeak yet. You need to give me the logs from before and after the plugin stops working for me to be able to troubleshoot this. I'll also need you to note the approximate time. Instead of trying to get them from the plugin console, I recommend turning on plugin logging.

I thought maybe our numbers had gone below the threshold, or that some users had misspelled their names. Either way, it stopped working.

Maybe I should restart the TS3 server? That's the one thing I didn't try yet...

  • Our picks

    • Game Server Hosting:

We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)

      Rust (From $3.20 USD)

      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)

Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)

      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)

      Squad (From $9.00 USD)

      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)

      Changes to US-East:

Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

    • Hello All,

I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully.

We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • Added ability to disable the new API check for player country info

      Updated GeoIP database file

      Removed usage sending stats

      Added EZRCON ad banner

If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

      procon.private.options.UseGeoIpFileOnly False
      procon.private.options.BlockRssFeedNews False

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.

If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.

Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.

Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.

Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.

Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.

Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.

Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes.

Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.

Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.

Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month

As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.

All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

If you would like to see how much it would cost for the services, I made a calculator that you can use. It can be found here https://ezrcon.com/calculator.html

    • I have pushed out a new minor release which updates the geodata pull (flags in the playerlisting). This should be way more accurate now. As always, please let me know if any problems show up.
