Strange working fine for me....

I'm using it on 3 servers.

What words are you trying?

Remember fu*k me, fu*k, shit etc.. is allowed. fu*k you, suck sh*t and lots more nasties are not.

Try just this one "n[o0u]{1,}[o0]{1,}[b8e]{1,}" this has to work. noob, n00b, nube, no08.

Jump on one of my servers and try it for your self, they are set for warn only no kill punish.

Oceania region server names are [CYN8]......

ps. noob is OK on my servers.

I don't think this is possible at the moment. Try settings warnings to 0 and use Kill and Kick. This way the player gets killed so he actually reads the warning.

It doesn't show in the attached screen shot but I do have Warn before next action set to Yes.

Should I see something in the box on the bottom of the Parent Layer Control tab when a warning is issued or will I only see something if someone is killed/kicked/banned? Should I see the warning listed on the Chat tab? I am admittedly no regex expert so I may have something configured incorrectly. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I am thoroughly confused. I tested the Votekick/ban plugin just to make sure other plugins were working. The Votekick/ban plugin worked just fine. I removed everything from my Warn list and added in one word to the kick list. I logged on to my server and typed it in several times and never received a warning. I disabled and re-enabled the plugin and tried again. Still nothing. I set Linear Method to No and was promptly kicked for language. I removed the word from the kick list and added it back to the warn list. I logged back in to my server and typed the word again and I got temp banned. I then turned Linear Method back on thinking I had found the issue and typed the word in again. I was temp banned again. With my kick and several temp bans, they showed up on the Parent Layer Control tab. I guess the plugin is working now so I should be happy. I just wish I knew what did it. I've disabled and enabled again before with no luck. Disregard my post for now I guess. I'll post more if I figure things out.

Hi pcaddict,

My settings are as in the image and works very well. I dont ban as i dont mine them playing... they just are not allowed to insult or abuse people.

Watchdog.jpg

I found the same, putting words in kick did not work so i just left them in kill, as you can see in the image, I have nothing in kick words and vulgar, racist, Gay insults and just plain offensive words in kill and the standard Insults in warn.

Max warn before kill 3

Max kill before kick 1

Max kick before TBan 0

Max TBan before Ban 0

I have found that this works well, if they use a warn word 3 times they are killed then next time kicked.

However if the use a kick word they are killed then kicked, if they come back and continue insults they are constantly kicked.

As u can see below it works very effectively.

Plugin Log

[23:52:48] Watchdog: Warning=C*****93 for Language

[23:58:23] Watchdog: killing=C*****93 for Language

[23:59:11] Watchdog: kicking=C*****93 for Language

[23:59:15] C*****93 has left the server..

Chat log

[23:52:48] C*****93 > FU**ER

[23:58:23] C*****93 > J******4, you'rea fu**ing c**t

[23:59:10] C*****93 > fu**ing nazi admin, this server sucks donkey balls s**t c**t f**k s**t f****t c**t wh**e

and what started this you ask...

J******4 [barrett M98B Sniper Rifle] C*****93 just once....

Trolling and abusive insults have just about stopped on our servers. They still are figuring out ways around it, but I am still monitoring and adding or modifying the regex to counter them.

ps

Replace the regex for fa**ot and f*t with the following, made a mistake and had [^a-z] a the front of them (means any character other than a-z) and one guy figured that out.

"f{1,}[a@]{1,}[g89]{1,}[o0e3i]{1,}[ts]{1,}[ .]*"

"f{1,}g{1,}t{1,}[ .]*"

Here is where my confusion comes in with regex. I was thinking that with the [^a-z] it would catch the word at the beginning of a chat message as well as anywhere in between. Whereas if I didn't have it, the word would only be caught at the beginning of the chat message. As I mentioned I am no expert so any education I can get would be most appreciated.

Hi pcaddict,

Me neither, i am only 3 weeks into regex..... i try to explain..

First off watchdog sets everything to lower case so we don't need to do anything for CAPS...

[^a-z] = not an "a" to "z" character i.e. it mean's -> a space, !,@,#,$,% etc and 1,2,3,4 etc...

[a-z] = any "a" to "z" character -> a,b,c,D,E,F etc....

{1,} = greedy grab as many as you can.

[ ]* = either a space or no space

so the reason i needed to take it off the front is that they figured out if they joined the words they could slip one past me i.e.

[^a-z]b{1,}a{1,}d{1,}[ .]* would find "bad' in "good bad", "good-bad" but not in "goodbad", remove [^a-z] and it finds "bad" again.

Note: because i set greedy after every letter {1,} it would also find "baaaad".

Now to find "b@d" we add [a@] to the regex statement b{1,}[a@]{1,}d{1,}[ .]* which means it can now find "good bad", "goodb@d" and "good bbbbaaa@@@dddd" etc....

Put -> b{1,}[a@]{1,}d{1,}[ .]* http://gskinner.com/RegExr/

(i tick all the boxes i.e. global, ignore case etc..)

and the following in the large bottom text field then check the results. (it updates in real time)

good bad

goodb@d

good bbbbaaa@@@dddd

This tool is brilliant, hover your mouse over the regex statement you are trying to create and it shows what each pattern does, plus on the right of the page it has examples.

I use it in conjunction with http://itools.subhashbose.com/wordfind/containing/ to check what words it will catch, it helps reduce false positives.....

Hope this makes sense...

Remember don't use the Watchdog ready statements they are enclosed in " and regex does not know what to do with them.

Ps did you get Watchdog working in Procon like you wanted?

That makes sense now. Thank you for the lesson. I also tried using that website to check my regex but didn't have any luck. I suspect that was more because of my regex statement now that I read your explanation. I will try again now that I think I have a better understanding.

Yes I did get Watchdog to work correctly. I usually leave my Procon running despite having a hosted layer. I saw on the Parent Layer Control tab that someone was warned for using a word in the list.

  • Our picks

    • Game Server Hosting:

We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)

      Rust (From $3.20 USD)

      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)

Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)

      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)

      Squad (From $9.00 USD)

      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)

      Changes to US-East:

Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

    • Hello All,

I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully.

We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • Added ability to disable the new API check for player country info

      Updated GeoIP database file

      Removed usage sending stats

      Added EZRCON ad banner

If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

      procon.private.options.UseGeoIpFileOnly False
      procon.private.options.BlockRssFeedNews False

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.

If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.

Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.

Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.

Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.

Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.

Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.

Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes.

Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.

Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.

Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month

As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.

All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

If you would like to see how much it would cost for the services, I made a calculator that you can use. It can be found here https://ezrcon.com/calculator.html
