Make sure you haven't set any message to be yelled. With BF3 the spawn message is useless as you can not send individual messages therefor it gets deactivated.

I will release an update to the plug-in which targets hosted installations because some popup info windows are useless on layer installed plugins. That can be a source of wrong settings...

Hi o/

I´m a new Procon user with a BF3 server and I think that I´m with this issue.

I uploaded to my FTP (I have a procon layer server) but I can´t see it in the Parent Layer Control window. Inside the plugin´s folder, I see that we have this plugin for BC2 and MoH, but it´s the same archive (.cs) for the BF3 folder? Maybe I´m doing something wrong but I tried with more plugins and all worked.

Well, i keep it simple. The *.inc file you find in the "plugins" folder of the archive has to be placed in the Plugins folder of your Procon installation. The *.cs from the related game folder have to be placed in their counterparts. Basically the are just holding include referrer to the inc file.

If you want to use it through your layer server you have to install it on your layer host and restart the procon providing the layer. If it doesn't show up, enable the plugin-console logfile. Retry and review that file as it may hold some messages regarding the plugin load.

Ok, but where is the *.cs file from BF3? I can see the *.inc file and 2 folders, just MoH and BFBC2 folders with their *.cs files, but I dont have the BF3 folder with related file. The file from bfc2 or moh works with BF3 too?

I downloaded the 1.2.0.1.v

Thanks for the support.

Damn... you found a bug.

I had an error on package build which left the cs file for BF3 outside.

To fix that i've just released v 1.2.0.2. The error with no cs file only had an impact to new installations.

If you had the plugin installed before version 1.2.0.1 you should not have had any impact.

To fix just download the new package or simply copy the cs file from bfbc2 to bf3.

Jip, it should do so.

The reason is that BF3 doesn't support the yell command you might know from BC2 and MoH.

There is only one case you can set this option to yes. Just after the plug-in is loaded and before you enable it. But as soon as you enable it that yes is internally changed to no and if you leave the settings screen of that plugin for that of another plugin and come back you will find it set to no.

Enable spawn message and announce admin name also doesn't work? is that correct?

In case it is located on a procon layer host i advise you to set "Xtras"-"On layer" to Yes, this is also the default. If you set it to no on your local procon directly connected to a gameserver you get a pop-up message box.

That's console debug output. Check if "debug" on the console is checked, that's the reason you see those.

And vars.maxPlayers is done:

Code:

[11:24:31] Queued: request S: 89 [0-vars.maxPlayers] [1-4]
This is the debug output related to the command to set it to 4, which was put into the command queue.

Code:

[11:24:34] Dequeued: request S: 89 [0-vars.maxPlayers] [1-4]
[11:24:34] Client: request S: 89 [0-vars.maxPlayers] [1-4]
Those lines show it is dequeued and send to the server, but your quote misses the replay from the server. You should find some line containing "Server: response S: 89".

You can ignore those lines until the next version or comment out line 744.

The plug-in checks the game it is running for on every response to a "version"

command. If that happens a line is printed to the plug-in console.

There is a new version (1.2.1.0) available.

The continuous display of the game discover was fixed and is now only displayed if debug mode is enabled. As a goody the ability to display server uptime and round duration in chat, on the chat-tab and the plug-in console was added.

Please check your version as 1.2.1.1 should get rid of the time spam even if it was disabled.

Yes it is all turned on right, been using this mod from day one.

I've noticed this to be the case if you select GUID ban. If you select ban by name it works fine for me.

Hmm.. have to re-check announcing the bans, but it should do.

What doesn't work with BF3 is announcement of kicks. This is because there is no player.onKicked event from the server which BC2 does. Cannot remember right now how pb ban works if it issues also a kick, if so this would not be announced.

A new version is available.

An option to "spot" players during pre-round has been added.

If the plugin notices a player joining it will be announced to all players on the servers. By that they know it make sense to wait a bit longer. As there are no pre-round start & end indicators the plugin will do so until the first kill and re-start spotting after a round has loaded.

Hey Phil_K,

I was already wondering about this. Thought I maybe had an outdated version of the plugin.

I've Been kicking myself for testing a couple of times, but never got feedback in the chat.

Too bad there is no onKicked event in BF3, I really liked the feature in BC2.

Or may there be a workaround with the kick command send to the server?

Like if the kick command has been fired, the plugin reads the line:

"admin.kickPlayer EBassie For shits and giggles"

The plugin, notices the event then fires a say command with the kick and the reason.

Not sure if this is even remotely possible, I was just thinking out of the box....

Maybe I good feature for Procon 2: When kicking / banning a player make it optional to announce the kick or ban?

It is possible to trigger the kick announce based on the admin.kickPlayer. The reason i didn't use it in my plugin is that you can not be sure that the kick has the wanted effect. You are only sure the player really got kicked if the server raises a suitable event. The OK to admin.kick only means the server has received the command and includes no data about success.

Edit:

Hmm... maybe i have an idea... have to test it later today/tomorrow
