It's not needed. You just need to make sure the BF3.def file is up-to-date on your layer server if you want to use the "Maximum Tank Superiority size" option.

I found my bf3.def file but where would I grab an updated version?

updated from my local procon version, not sure why the server version wasn't up to date.

As has been mentioned 2-3 times before in this thread, the plugin only turns the server idle kick option on and off (same as you doing it in PRoCon). The server itself monitors the players and does the kicking.

Is there any fix for this? We noticed this happens way too often since the last server patch, what we do is disable the plugin and manually set the server to a higher max player, then wait for some players to join and re-enable the plugin.

 

The big deal is when we have no admins online to do this, the server can get stuck at 12 players for example in TDM..

i noticed some "odd behaviour" like that too. for example being stuck on the max server size. i dont know why this happens i was not able to fix it (honestly i didnt look into it further :biggrin:)

a quick and dirty solution for me was: schedule a restart of your game server and/or procon with your gsp. i scheduled a restart of my server every 3 days at 5:00am (procon 5:30am), works perfectly. there are also plugins to accomplish this, but since there is only admin.shutdown (no admin.restart) some servers stay down

 

since this problem is solved for me this way i wont look into it further. hope this helps you too

The EXACT same thing happened here, I was blaming my GSP, but it seems this is caused by Adaptive Server Size. Sad thing is it also happened randomly last night when we were in conquest and we were stuck at 44 players (22 on each team) and lot of other players trying to join getting stuck at black loading screen with the bottom square blinking all the time, and procon showed them on neutral team all the time, there was no way to assign them a team.

 

Until this is solved, I have deleted Adaptive Server Size from my server, this issue is very important, really needs a fix.

is it possible to have the plugin have an option to turn off the server size on certain modes (like the adaptive ticket size), we have so many modes now with three DLC out. i want to have a special server size (through insane limit) for tank superiority.

Please search the thread before asking questions. I have answered this many times already. The plugin just turns on/off the server's idle kick feature and the server doesn't have a white list feature. Generally, you should only have the idle kick turned off during the initial seeding of the server. Once you have 12-16, I would have it turn on.

He heh Sorry I never can find anything using the search functions on forums but many thanks for the quick respones - And the last bit should be a"on" not off I'm guessing and yes I already do what you recomended But I tend to like to idle because I use your UMM plugin, which changes from Vanilla TMDM map list 1 to AK maplist 2 hence the question about the white list because the server will hit max players on TMDM and kick me before the server changes over to AK Maps in which I will need to idle again because you tend to lose alot of player but this is the best way I have found to get AK maps runnning.

What am I looking for? I don't see any problems with the plugin, but it does seem that your layer server restarts PRoCon quite a bit. This shouldn't happen, but if you can't control it, you should change "On startup, assume round started at max server size_" to "Yes".

instead it doesnt move from 32 to 64.. it gets lock to 32 slots.

We have the same problem. There was the same same problem in past.

 

I must deactivate the plugin if there are 32 player. So now more than 32 player can join. Server size is every time correct but only 32 of 64 player can join.

I don't believe this is directly related to ASS. This plugin only uses the ListPlayers event to count the number of players on the server and update a single array of players. Doing this doesn't take much time. I suspect you have a lot of other plugins that are doing lots of other things (like querying the web for player stats, etc.) causing the lag/delay that ASS ends up getting caught in. Disable any plugins that make external web requests and I bet everything returns to normal.

      Changes to US-East:

We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

      I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully. 

      We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

      We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

      If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

      Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

      Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.



      If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.


      Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.


      Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.




      Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.


      Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.


      Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.


      Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes. 


      Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.


      Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.




      Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month


      As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.





      All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

    • I have pushed out a new minor release which updates the geodata pull (flags in the playerlisting). This should be way more accurate now. As always, please let me know if any problems show up.
