Any Help welcome

On the ProCon server, the BF3.def is from Dec 6th 2012, including DLC-4 weapons and mode.

Zip or Rar the plugin files up before you upload them and then unzip them there on the layer

Yeah, that should work.

i have 9 layers total 528 slots and adding a number for each size is painful.

my idea is that we first set the max server size, then automatically we get aline like

0-64 = 64

if we change it to

0-32 = 48

a line automatically appear saying

33-64 = 64

and so on.

just a suggestion. it might not be possible.

edit :

another way is to set it up to look like this

1-1 = 32

2-2 = 32

3-3 = 32

4-4 = 32

5-5 = 32

6-6 = 32

7-7 = 32

where the first number does not change, but if we change the 2nd number to look like this

1-5 = 32

it will delete the next 4 lines to look like this

1-5 = 32

6-6 = 32

7-7 = 32

It's possible, but it would be a lot of work for something that most people only do once. If the settings are the same on all of your servers, just copy the AdaptiveServerSize lines from the config file of the first server you set up and paste it into the others. That's probably the quickest and easiest way to propagate the settings.

We change maps/modes on our 4 layer servers, and it is a pain. Each of the layers have different size. BUT, I like the plugin enough, it's not make-or-break!

Because of the way Procon plugins must be coded, maybe like this?

============================

Delete_Range: [0,1,2,3,...]

New_Range: [True/False]

Range_1_Start: [0]

Range_1_End: [27]

Range_1_Server_Size: [32]

Range_2_Start: [28]

Range_2_End: [48]

Range_2_Server_Size: [48]

At the time of this writing, over 600 servers are running Adaptive Server Size. It's a Top Ten plugin by daily usage, and four of those top ten come bundled with Procon! Without those bundled plugins, it's Top Five! You've voted with your "feet" by using it, now vote with your wallets.

Why am I doing this now? Did falcontx put me up to this? Hell, no. I'm just ashamed, ashamed I'm telling you, that such great work hasn't had more recognition, financial or otherwise.

Don't be a dead-beat like me, donate today. I'd recommend $1 per server that has this plugin enabled. Post a reply if you've decided to man up and donate, past or present. The donation buttons are in the Plugin Description tab in Procon itself.

Thanks PapaCharlie9 and everyone else who has donated. It's much appreciated. I'm happy that my plugins are some of the most helpful and most used plugins out there! Thanks for your support!

P.S. The State Bird of Texas is the Mockingbird, not the Falcon. It's a shame, isn't it!

No it's not an embarrassing question.

Nevertheless I still don't think it's a BF3.def file issue as I'm having the same CTF issues with the plugin and have disabled it on my CTF server. My BF3.def file is the latest version and I double-checked it's contents via ftp on the hosting layer.

Although the BF3.def file includes air superiority mode references I see no references in it to CTF. Maybe I'm overlooking them but this seems to be the issue.

Perhaps we're awaiting the Dice server-side patch release to address the "known" issues thus far with CTF ticket / timer rcon issues before a new procon-update is released. Honestly I don't know.

Anyways your BF3.def is located inside your Pron configs folder.

What do you mean by "the same CTF issues"? No one else has reported any problems with this plugin.

Issue only seems to occur when #players drop below the show 32 threshold. Seems to adapt size properly at other thresholds.

Issue present only on CTF servers.

Ahh.. That doesn't make much sense. I'd need to see logs and such in order to diagnose the problem.

This has been happening to us for months now. Maybe it has something to do with having multiple servers ;/

Whatever you set the Maximum game mode Size to is what it will make your server when that game mode comes on. This is different from the Maximum Server Size setting at the top.

Set them all to 64 for a 64 slot server.

Yes, thanks for the tip, all game-modes including CTF are set to 64.

Not to sound like I'm unappreciative of the tip but I'm a professional web developer by trade and write code in my sleep, & have managed multiple servers via Procon since BF3's launch. There is a compatibility issue with the plugin running on CTF. It will be debugged & resolved soon enough. Until then I have it off on my CTF server.

Thanks.

Thanks.

If it helps, I can offer that for me there is no compatibility issue with Adaptive Server Size and CTF and it works as intended on my 64 slot servers. That's why I thought it might be the individual game mode settings for you.

Hopefully Falcon finds the issue and fixes this for you and others who have this issue.

Personally, I found 64 player CTF to be a super camp fest and not very fun. 40 seems about right. Still a lot of camping to the point where I now call the mode "Camp The Flag", but at least once and a while someone can score a point. With 64 we went round after round at 0 vs 0.

I have now seen a problem similar to those reported above (details below), but I can confirm that it is not caused by Adaptive Server Size. The problem happened even when I had the plugin disabled and typed in vars.maxPlayers values manually. It may be a game server bug related to CTF.

I have CTF set up for 40 max, 6 min, with +4 increments, so when there are 6 players on the server the max is supposed to be increased to 10.

However, this morning I saw that serverInfo was reporting 6 players and 6 max. I disabled the plugin and tried manually entering vars.maxPlayers values greater than 6, no change. I restarted the round, no change. The value for vars.maxPlayers was being returned correctly, whatever I last set it to, e.g. 10, but serverInfo continued to report 6 players, 6 max. I wasn't able to clear it without rebooting the game server and dumping out those poor 6 players.

I haven't scanned the logs to see what sequence of events lead to 6/6, but I'm pretty sure it's not Adaptive Server Size's fault.

  • Our picks

    • Game Server Hosting:

We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)

      Rust (From $3.20 USD)

      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)

Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)

      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)

      Squad (From $9.00 USD)

      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)

      Changes to US-East:

Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

    • Hello All,

I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully.

We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • Added ability to disable the new API check for player country info

      Updated GeoIP database file

      Removed usage sending stats

      Added EZRCON ad banner

If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

      procon.private.options.UseGeoIpFileOnly False
      procon.private.options.BlockRssFeedNews False

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.

If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.

Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.

Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.

Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.

Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.

Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.

Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes.

Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.

Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.

Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month

As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.

All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

If you would like to see how much it would cost for the services, I made a calculator that you can use. It can be found here https://ezrcon.com/calculator.html
