Advanced In-Game Admin and Ban Enforcer - AdKats

If you've been banned from a server then you will need to appeal the ban with the owners/community of that server. We do not control any bans done on servers that utilize AdKats as all bans are local to that server.

Try running it with the lastest version of AdKatsLRT: 2.0.6.6

 

See if that helps.

As smackdown said, you need to have the latest version of both plugins.

While this is a very rare issue (only reported by 2 people out of thousands running AdKats, and the problem code was added nearly 2 years ago) it is possible and you should update your plugin immediately.

Currently bans only operate based on 3 properties, name, ea guid, and IP. If a range of IPs were to be banned that would need to be another system added onto this one.

 

How much of a range would need to be possible?

 

127.000.000.111

 

so the following IP would be banned?

 

127.000.000.XXX

 

If that was the case then it may be easier to implement. Almost everything added to AdKats is meant to be controllable via in-game commands.

 

Please open a new issue here and i'll tag it as a feature request. After we've fleshed out what the feature needs to be we can discuss funding it. All new features for AdKats that aren't planned to be used internally require funding.

A lot of things that were planned into the engine will need to be attacked differently now since that isn't happening. Working a planned feature into a revamp is less work than re-purposing an existing system to support it.

PB_SV_BanMask [iP Address / Subnet Mask]

Permanently bans players from joining the server from the specified IP Address / Subnet Mask; for example: issuing PB_SV_BanMask "12.34." will cause PB to deny access to all players trying to join from an IP Address that begins with "12.34."; These bans are written to the pbbans.dat file just like bans issued with the PB_SV_Ban command

This seems like a good option at first glance, and it would definitely work for single-server setups, but it falls away slightly since AdKats bans are enforced across all servers in the group. It would need to be added to all servers that the admin owns.

 

But yes, if you have a single server setup this is currently the best solution.

Bans are stored in the database. If you want to search for a ban, type in a partial or full player name in the search field and it will fetch banned players matching that name. Once fetched you can disable/enable the bans. We can't show the whole list because some people have thousands of bans. Our servers are currently sitting on about 20,000 player bans.

 

There is also a /unban command for directly unbanning players, and you can use partial names.

But, if you only have one server and don't have an issue managing bans i would suggest turning the ban enforcer system off, you probably do not need it, and procons ui will work best for you.

 

Edit: Keep in mind you will not be able to use the unban command from in-game when the ban enforcer is not enabled.

I am writing up a patch tonight to prevent this from happening, then pushing a full release for it so everyone grabs the update.

YAY! It was still a mystery to us but now it's not. Still playing catchup after everything got wiped, but should be good now...think our layer updated, will check it tonight.
