Advanced In-Game Admin and Ban Enforcer - AdKats

If you've been banned from a server then you will need to appeal the ban with the owners/community of that server. We do not control any bans done on servers that utilize AdKats as all bans are local to that server.

The battlelog errors and stat information errors are from battlelog going offline today and the plugin not knowing how to handle that, that issue should be patched now. However, the team power one i'll take a look at.

 

Please set enablePluginDebugging to True in your procon.cfg file and reboot your layer so I can see line numbers in your error messages. You should see the -D- in those messages turn into a number instead.

I updated AdKats to 6.9.0.353 and rebooted my server with Debug on level 5. I had no errors shown on either server. Thank you for the quick response.

haha. The only reason i had been keeping myself from releasing as version 7 was because we made this arbitrary decision at some point that version 7 would be the complete rewrite. Now I don't believe that has any chance of happening in the slightest so the next stable update of AdKats will be version 7.0.0.0.

Turn on automatic server reboots in AdKats, if your server drops to empty it will reboot the server if it's been online for a certain duration you set. Give that a shot. This is in setting section 1.

Yeah I already found that really nice section (didn't knew that it was there but it is fantastic) but it doesn't solve my problem because I always use to have at least two seedingaccounts (real accounts) on the server that also on it when the server disappears in Battlelog and as long as they're on the server AdKats won't restart it, you know?

But I guess I have another solution that I'm working on for my problem. Thanks for your answer :-)

I noticed this issue on my servers last night. Players who were temp banned were able to re-enter our servers and post comments before ban enforcer took action. I have had this happen in the past, and was fixed by simply rebooting server. However I think the issue is really some from of network congestion between Adkats and my database.

 

I will have to see if the issue continues today, but the issue just popped up last night for me so I will watch it to see if the issue is gone or not.

No this is because of a change made to make sure people knew why they were banned. DICE's new in-game browser does not display kick reasons to players, so I modified AdKats to spam the player with say/yell messages before it kicks them. I took into account them joining back after the ban but it appears i was too lenient. I'll make the needed patches and if necesssary add an option to disable the leniency.

It takes seeders into account. Players who have been in the server without taking any action for 20 minutes are considered seeder accounts and aren't counted toward the population of the server.

If this is the case, it needs to be patched. I understand your reason behind it, but as it is currently working, it is allowing those players who were ban to come back into the server and post the negative comments. Thank you for patching this, since it is really annoying to have players come back just to post negative comments. As you posted, making this an option to disable the leniency is a great idea.

It already took repeat joiners into account in part, after 3 re-joins it removes the leniency. But yes considering most admins will want this to never happen i'll make this opt-in, so you need to allow the leniency for it to happen but is disabled by default. I'll patch that tonight.

Technically in Linux that path doesn't exist. It's missing the / at the start of the path. Colon, you might want to add some code in to detect the environment that it's running in like "win32" etc.. I'm sure c# has some sort of env function for that.

It means he was a hacker, killing people with ammo pouches. I have yet to add that to the docs. There are multiple code 8 ban types.

      Changes to US-East:

      Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

      I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully. 

      We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

      We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

      If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

      Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

      Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.



      If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.


      Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.


      Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.




      Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.


      Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.


      Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.


      Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes. 


      Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.


      Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.




      Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month


      As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.





      All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

    • I have pushed out a new minor release which updates the geodata pull (flags in the playerlisting). This should be way more accurate now. As always, please let me know if any problems show up.
