Advanced In-Game Admin and Ban Enforcer - AdKats

If you've been banned from a server then you will need to appeal the ban with the owners/community of that server. We do not control any bans done on servers that utilize AdKats as all bans are local to that server.

Shut down all of your layers.

Look at your tbl_server table.

Find the row that has your new server IP.

Copy that IP and save it somewhere.

Delete the table row that has the new IP.

Edit the the row that has the old IP, set that IP to the the new IP.

Start up your layers.

Copy your configs directory from the old layer and paste that over the top of the configs directory in your new layer. Then make the changes you need to the procon.cfg file so that it points to the new server, IP, RCON port, Password, etc.

 

Then once you boot up your layer and AdKats turns on, you will need to use the setting import to import the AdKats settings from that other server. In the setting import field in server settings, enter the server ID of your old server. Then all the settings will be brought over to your new layer.

That would take some time, i already have a prefix system, but adding country to that might be odd. I'll look into it though.

Gah, i'll just add target weights for those commands. Those are not supposed to happen but are still there from an old error in the BFACP.

 

As for the thread warnings, do they go away after a while or do they keep displaying? I see the ones you posted are about a minute apart. It could be something bad or it could be a lot of people getting kicked for enforced bans at the same time. These should only show up if you have 'BF4 Lenient Kick' enabled, i forget which setting section it's in.

The thread warnings go away shortly after the reboot. So to answer your questions, it only shows up the one time after the reboot an then no further issues.

It shows up after every reboot consistently? Do a lot of people normally get kicked when you reboot your layers? If so, do you recognize the kick messages you are getting?

 

If this is a normal case for you i might just need to increase the threshold before the thread warning is displayed.

Hello,

 

Normally, I only reboot the layer server when our gaming servers are empty. But I do notice that after rebooting the layer server and seeing the previously mention code errors, that in the chat box of Procon, there are a bunch of players being told that they were kicked, banned or whatever.

 

Not sure what you mean by increasing the threshold before the thread warning is displayed.

No, those options are not available. This is just a script that I had written a while ago for no explosive servers but people had found it in the code and wanted settings for it. So I made the settings visible. It's not intended to be a full-fledged auto-admin system. You can set up your normal autoadmin to issue commands via AdKats if you want though.

Yeah this is odd, not sure why kick messages would be showing up if the server is empty. That's a little concerning.

 

Next time this happens make sure you have disconnect messages on and let me know what the kick messages are.

Yeah that's what I'm currently doing with the autoadmin to issue commands via AdKats. Thanks anyway.

Section A12-4. All Caps Chat Monitor

 

If I'm enabling "All Caps Limiter Only Limit Specified Players" what does the plugin then do? Can I set up a list with special players or how is it working?

I reboot my layer servers this morning after they finally went empty. When I rebooted this time, the only error code I saw were these:

There is a special player command associated with that, i think it's /allcapsblacklist but I don't remember for sure. Look in your command list in AdKats, it's worded something like that. It works the same way as other special player commands.

 

EDIT: To clarify, when that setting is enabled, only people on that blacklist will be monitored. Everyone else will be left untouched.

update adkats_records_main set command_action = 62 where command_action = 61 and command_type in (18, 20);

update adkats_records_main set command_action = 42 where command_action = 41 and command_type in (18, 20);

 

Keep these around if you ever see those messages again, for commands 18 or 20 anyway. It was an old bug with the BFACP.

 

Please PM me the with the full procon chat log (and the plugin log if you have it), from when AdKats begins startup till after the kicks happen and AdKats is running. This is very odd, if nobody is in the server to kick it shouldn't try to issue those actions.

I added a system for blocking certain players from reporting for a specified amount of time. I believe it's /rblacklist, but I don't remember. Basically blacklists them from using the report command.

 

If this is isolated to a few troublemakers i would suggest using that instead of making everyone suffer, but if you still want that feature I can add it to my list.

      Changes to US-East:

      Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

      I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully. 

      We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

      We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

      If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

      Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

      Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.



      If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.


      Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.


      Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.




      Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.


      Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.


      Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.


      Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes. 


      Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.


      Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.




      Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month


      As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.





      All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.
