Imo 32 is a good starting point. I've seen people who start at 16 but looking at our server (64 slots though) it fills up quite fast.

We go from 32-48-64

I'm running Adaptive Server Size 1.3.4.5 version, I only use the Adaptive Idle Kick side of the plugin to help seed the servers by disabling idle kick until a set number of players and a 600 second idle kick once active.

I have used it in BF3 with no problems at all yet in BF4 it seems to not work properly according to the Battlelogs data on the server page.

Servers are all in Ranked mode, Procon is the latest version 1.4.1.5, plugin runs on a parent layer which is also procon version 1.4.1.5.

This is what I get when plugin is turned on. (debug enabled)

[15:14:33 08] AdaptiveServerSize: Enabled!

[15:14:59 67] AdaptiveServerSize: WORK -> 16 players online. Idle kick timer set to 600 seconds. BtLog shows the Preset Custom & KICK IDLE PLAYER AFTER SECONDS 600

[15:22:23 39] AdaptiveServerSize: Enabled!

[15:22:24 85] AdaptiveServerSize: WORK -> 0 players online. Idle kick disabled. BtLog shows the Preset Custom KICK IDLE PLAYER AFTER SECONDS 225 when it should be showing 0.

These are the settings from the BF4 parent layer in case it's asked, I've seen it asked in the past.

runPluginsInSandbox False

ShowDICESpecialOptions False

UsePluginOldStyleLoad False

Adaptive Idle Kick

Enable adaptive idle kick?

If enabled, disables the idle kick time when less than the specified number of players are online.

Disable idle kick until how many players are on?

Once this number of players is reached, idle kick will be enabled and set to the specified value.

Desired idle kick time, in seconds

The number of seconds that the idle kick timer will be set to, once it has been enabled.

Is there anyway of keeping Preset Normal and BtLog showing correct server info, I have tried Simple Command Repeater set on normal which keeps the Preset at Normal but then shows the idle kick in BtLog as 300 when it's meant to be 600.

In other words, you can't have "Normal" server with anything other than an idle kick of 300.

Yeah figured as much thanks, though I wish Dice would just bugga off and let us run the servers how we want, getting sick of this locking crap down tighter than a fish's asshole with each release.

Assuming you are referring to BF4, place each file in the folders at the end of the file paths if for BF3 then change to BF3 folder.

procon/Plugins/BF4 CAdaptiveServerSize.cs [copy file into there.]

procon/Plugins CAdaptiveServerSize.inc [copy file into there.]

That is where I have them, however I see my layer server is running 1.4.1.3, so I am getting them to update it now!

thanks for re-assuring me that I was of Sound body and mind!

Would it be possible to inlcude one more option in the Plugin Settings to specify the idle kick timeout value for "disabled" state. That would allow us to enlarge the idle timeout (e.g. to max. value (86400) on BF4) instead of using the value 0 to disable it. On BF3 one could still use 0 to disable, on BF4 one could at least use a much higher value than default. Would be an easy to implement solution I think.

Nothing has changed, I'm the only Procon user.

What is your lowest MaxPlayer setting with this plugin?

I've had no issues with my settings:

0 - 6 players: 64 slots

7 - 29: 32 slots

30 - 46: 48 slots

47 - 64: 64 slots

0-6 players: 8 Slots

Then from there I start at 12 slots and increase them by two every 2 players (12, 12, 14, 14, 16, 16...).

Never had this issue before, it was very weird, and only thing I changed was update the plugin yesterday.

Thanks EBassie. I will try this later today and verify. I've login today this morning and now server version is 107436. Another patch over night? Regardless, my work around was setting a pb task to force server updating max spectators to 0 for the time being, but it renders ASS useless  I want them to fix the game, but all these updates cause us admins to constantly tweak! /rant

Thanks for all of your hard work in Procon!

ASS should be setting the server to it's maximum size between rounds. Plus, the plugin does account for joining players. But, like I said, without a proper bug report, I have no way to see what's actually going on.

Pluginlist: see screenshot

Problem:

When preround is over due enough players (4) , next round should be loaded, but it ends in a black loadiung screen, and you get stuck.

If you quit BF4 and rejoin the server, the level is loaded ok, and you can play. You can see the other players in the game, but they are stuck!!

Time: About 9:11 / 9:12 about that time the server went from preround to the normal round

Log file: zip file attached

From what i can see, when preround is over at like 9:11, UMM is setting the map to Dragonpass, while Zavod , the map of the preround is loaded by the server, because its map i also use for preround. So maby there is going something wrong ?

  • Our picks

    • Game Server Hosting:

We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)

      Rust (From $3.20 USD)

      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)

Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)

      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)

      Squad (From $9.00 USD)

      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)

      Changes to US-East:

Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

    • Hello All,

I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully.

We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • Added ability to disable the new API check for player country info

      Updated GeoIP database file

      Removed usage sending stats

      Added EZRCON ad banner

If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

      procon.private.options.UseGeoIpFileOnly False
      procon.private.options.BlockRssFeedNews False

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.

If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.

Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.

Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.

Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.

Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.

Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.

Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes.

Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.

Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.

Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month

As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.

All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

If you would like to see how much it would cost for the services, I made a calculator that you can use. It can be found here https://ezrcon.com/calculator.html
