Advanced In-Game Admin and Ban Enforcer - AdKats

If you've been banned from a server then you will need to appeal the ban with the owners/community of that server. We do not control any bans done on servers that utilize AdKats as all bans are local to that server.

It's advisable to run 1 procon layer per server if you're running AdKats. Performance reasons

Right. We are implimenting another server, different IPs of course. I had the current one set up perfectly. I was just going to copy the settings over and all that jazz to the 2nd one. 

 

We got hit with 2 DDOS attacks last nigth, but provider blocked them. That is so old school :D

 

So back to topic, once I order the second server, I'll need to rent a 2nd procon layer and just "create connection" and then add all the files and so forth and be good to go?

Yep, you can even have the 2nd layer import the settings from. The first one to save time. I think it's one of the first options after you setup the db connection. Something import sever id

Lol I set  experimental tools to enabled for some time now, but today I set weekily events to true to see what options would appear. I immediately set it to false again, but now my server name has changed to 'Event Countdown Server Name'.... Not really what I expected to happen... It changed without restart, can I change it back without one?

Yeah some of the experimental stuff is dangerous as it's all undocumented. That event system would be great to get into the full plugin as it's a pretty massive script, but converting it to work on every server would be a large effort. If you have it disabled again you can safely just change you server name manually back to what it was originally and you'll be fine.

Hello again @ CCC. I can’t seem to find where you replied. The ping kick is not kicking any longer. What was it you told me to look for? All the ping whitelists are set to false except VIPs and Admins. None of us are over 140 but we have people with 250 pings in here and I have it set to 150 kick.

Minimum player count to kick is probably too high.

Trying to set up server #2. Done the same thing as last time, but I am getting this error now ...

 

[14:53:37 48] [AdKats] ERROR-7600: [Not DB connection capable yet, complete SQL connection variables.]

 

 

I went into the database's tables and it shows adkats. 

 

You need to add your database connection information to AdKats' settings.

wnuke and tban3day isn't working ... 

 

For the temp ban, we've tried tban3d and tban3day .... says it's set on minutes? Is there a way to default it to 3 days/72-hours?  Or it is tban4320 or tban 4320

 

Is there a work-around? 

 

Those are special strings for the punishment system, they aren't commands. If you want to ban someone for 3 days just do /tban 3d playername reason

I banned a tag to remove a whole platoon but they showed me it is clean again. Now when I take out that tag from A16 it appears that platoon is still banned. Restarting the plugin doesn't help. I cannot seem to locate any of this in the DB, any advice how to debug this? Thank you!

 

Banning a tag causes the system to issue a ban against any players joining with that tag, and they will remain banned until manually unbanned. This is to avoid them changing their tag just to be allowed back in the server. You will need to find the players who have those tags and unban them.

Totally love this plug in.

 

I have a few queries.

1.  I had a couple of players that  have very good repuation, but when they get reported I can not punish them. (and they deserved to be punished)

I get a message saying they auto contested and try back later (cant remember exact wording).

Not matter how long I wait, I still get the same error...

 

2.  Trying to report offline players, the fuzzy search works well, but some players it will not find even if they are typed exactly.

I found the fuzzy search works for /pinfo but will not find them for /report

 

3. Would love to automatically reward players in the !wtop10

I am manually adding them to a group with special rewards (reserverd slot etc)

  1. That is just to make sure admin's are confirming the reports against high reputation players and not just punishing against the report number when one comes up. To punish those players simply use their player name instead of the report number and it will be allowed.
  2. The name matching system works differently for different commands, some are intended for offline players so they search the database, others are not so they give players in the server priority and fuzzy match. The report command doesn't search the database for players because it's assumed that if a player typed a name that doesn't match someone currently in the server then they probably mistyped the name and didn't actually mean to type some player in the database who is offline. Certain commands like /pinfo, the whitelisting commands, banning commands, etc, do check the database because they need to check all players and not just the ones in the server.
  3. I don't have a way of automatically doing that for top 10, but i do have a way to do that with challenges. Take a look at the challenge section and see if the reward options it has can do what you want. It does take a bunch of setup to get it working the way you want it though, there is a guide on the AdKats github.

One other query I had was the assist system.  We get a couple of people that have worked out they can use assist every 2-5 min when they are limited players on the server to increase their rep.

Would love a solution to solve this.

The overall solution would be to add a lower limit on the number of players that must be in the server before using assist, but that would block people from legitimately helping weak teams while the server is filling. I'm not going to give hope that i have time to add a setting for this.

You could block them from using the command completely for a period of time by assigning a role that doesn't have access to it. Or just go into the database and remove a bunch of their assists to drop their rep back down as punishment for abusing the system. 51 is the command ID for a confirmed assist, so you can search for records with their player in the adkats_records_main table with 51 as the command_action and remove some. Rep is calculated from scratch every time it changes in the plugin so their rep will auto-update once they enter the server again or perform an action.

Thanks for your replies.

I had already deleted alot of the records for assist to bring them back to normal.  It was easy to spot the assist used in quick succession but the option you mentioned to create a group with no access to assist and assign that to the trouble makers is probably a better option.  Thanks for your time.

Additionally. Be careful what you name your new role btw. Players can see role names via the /isadmin command when issued against another player, so don't name it something cheeky that you'd get called out for.
