i believe this all happened due to the strict securacy policies of the hoster.

or is there any other reason to not let the customer handle the config folder

via ftp on his own ? i doubt it.

thats probably also the reason why the autoupdate failed.

I can't say what the reason was for our server running Siege Of Shanghai all evening yesterday since I did a number of things yesterday :

1. Updated the BF4.def file from the net (both Layer server and clients)

2. Changed the maprotation to include the new maps from S.A.

3. Removed the maps from S.A. since it was emptying our server when they appeared.

After this we were stuck at Siege Of Shanghai for the rest of the evening. The strange thing was that it was running the correct maplist but only one map was active on the server.

In addition to this xVotemap was also giving me problems by not working, maybe because there was only one map registered in the maplist on the server.

Question :

Is there a limit for how many maps a maplist can have?

I think I had 18 maps in my maplist yesterday and only 17 of them was visible in the serverinfo in Battlelog.

It is a major bug with the R26 patch that is causing the maplist issue, and there is a lot of discussion about this in the other threads. DICE made some changes on their backend which has minimized this issue but not completely resolved it yet. It's not as bad, but it still happens sometimes.

The same issues are being reported by several other people at the link below and the discussion goes on for at least three pages:

=====================

@Falcon

Yesterday, I was adding various custom presets for different maps and different game modes, and because I have different configurations as well as utilizing the two presets for each map, I ended up with 19 custom presets to choose from. At 19 custom presets, UMM took away all presets from each map and I also lost the menu to add/remove custom presets.

Since I could no longer delete custom presets, I had to go into the config file and manually delete a couple presets then restart procon. Once I deleted presets to get it below 19 custom preset options, all of my maps had their presets back and I now saw the manage presets menu return.

Currently, there are 10 game modes and will likely be more in the future. If you want to have different setups for different maps based on different game modes, the amount of custom presets one could use adds up quick.

Is there a limit to how many custom presets you can have?

If so, is it possible to increase this so we don't hit the issue I describe above?

There is no limit defined in the plugin. Maybe there's a maximum limit of the total number of options for a specific plugin or data structure, though? Someone else had mentioned that extremely large map lists cause the same issue. In cases like this, I'm not sure how to handle it, as it's beyond my control unless I can figure a workaround of some sort.

Despite all this, my preset are absolutely not working.

It seems that the preset command sent after the load is the only one that is active (in the example we just play Hardcore with vehicule,(we don't want in Infantry)

What's wrong ?

Thanks for your time and support

My custom preset :

# Custom Preset: Hardcore Infantry

vars.preset hardcore

vars.onlySquadLeaderSpawn true

vars.miniMap true

vars.3dSpotting false

vars.miniMapSpotting false

vars.vehicleSpawnAllowed false

The way it is configured in UMM :

Game Mode : Obliteration

Map Name : Zavod 311

Rounds : 1

Preset : Hardcore Infantry

Preset (after level loads) : Hardcore

Thanks for your time and support.

In BF3's UMM, I have 35 maps with the different game modes (each map has 4 options or 5 options with the Manage Map menu) and I have no issues.

In BF4's UMM, I only added 16 maps to test each Second Assault map with Conquest, Rush, Obliteration, and CTF to start. Then I was going to test other game modes. It wasn't until I created the 19th custom preset that I saw this happen.

I haven't counted Papa's MultiBalancer options, but I would think he has more options than UMM.

Maybe there's a max amount of options a plugin can have per Section? Im looking at MB's Rush settings section, and that has 22 options or settings for that section.

When I created the 19 custom presets, I also have the 3 standard presets (infantry, normal, and hardcore), which would technically make it 22 options for that section. If you add in the Manage Presets menu, that would make it 23.

Change your 2nd preset to "None" - otherwise, it's just overwritting your custom preset with the standard Hardcore preset. "vars.preset Hardcore" is a lot of variables wrapped into it. Unfortunately, your server has to be listed as custom if you want the Minimap on for all players. There's no way around this.

no. not how it used to be before the patch.

i had my custom inf only hc running with two presets successfully as well.

preset 1 determines e.g. inf only, no vehicles spawning.

preset 2 after map load injected the hardcore setting but

vehicles couldnt spawn anymore.

that was good.

now it doesnt work anymore and i wonder why as well.

then i injected directly on the server the vars.preset hardcore and

this was given me by the server:

[23:35:00] vars.preset Hardcore

[23:35:00] ExecutedOnNextRound

tho the preset2 loading doesnt seem to work anymore ?

Good catch. I guess not. DICE watches what we do with the plugins and continues to counter them.

are they really so f***ing short sightened ?

there is a preset that ensures them "their" game to be running "their" way !

ITS CALLED vars.serverType OFFICIAL !!!

vars.serverType Ranked means that server owners set up their servers

the way they want because they pay for it so people can play with

some difference as long its no monotone statspadding...

sorry if i sound too mad.

I'm talking about you Custom preset. You have the minimap enabled within it. On your 1st preset, you have the Custom preset, then on the 2nd preset (after level load) you're setting the server to Hardcore. In regards to just the minimap portion, all new players joining into the server will join without a minimap enabled, while all players who were already there when the map began will have their minimap on. It creates an unfair advantage for all new players.

edit: oh yeah, "[23:35:00] ExecutedOnNextRound" that's new with the patch, so I guess that fixes the loophole I mentioned. Therefore, I guess Presets will not work after the level has loaded. I wonder if *any* specific variables can be changed without waiting til next round?

You only have to open your Procon Client local, wait for update or trigger it manually and then you have one in your ../procon/config folder.

This has been covered many times in this thread, including at least twice in the last 2 days. It's in the Configs folder. Find it in your local copy of PRoCon and upload it to your layer server.

Too bad

Even if I can understand DICE POV, your Plugin is a Genious one, and that's really sad they counter it.

  • Our picks

    • Game Server Hosting:

We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)

      Rust (From $3.20 USD)

      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)

Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)

      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)

      Squad (From $9.00 USD)

      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)

      Changes to US-East:

Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

    • Hello All,

I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully.

We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • Added ability to disable the new API check for player country info

      Updated GeoIP database file

      Removed usage sending stats

      Added EZRCON ad banner

If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

      procon.private.options.UseGeoIpFileOnly False
      procon.private.options.BlockRssFeedNews False

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.

If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.

Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.

Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.

Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.

Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.

Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.

Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes.

Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.

Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.

Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month

As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.

All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

If you would like to see how much it would cost for the services, I made a calculator that you can use. It can be found here https://ezrcon.com/calculator.html

    • I have pushed out a new minor release which updates the geodata pull (flags in the playerlisting). This should be way more accurate now. As always, please let me know if any problems show up.
