Advanced In-Game Admin and Ban Enforcer - AdKats

Message added by Prophet731,

If you've been banned from a server then you will need to appeal the ban with the owners/community of that server. We do not control any bans done on servers that utilize AdKats as all bans are local to that server.

No a command can't be empty at the moment, just changing the command name to "eiwoiwf293fm3" should do the trick, lol. I have not looked into disabling certain commands, just lowering people's access level so they cant use them.

Thanks, there's also "admin" command which I prefer for another plugin to be used, so I guess I will type some random stuff hahaha.

If AdKats is disabling itself that's something we need to fix.

This is most likely a very simple fix, as i'm assuming it's just from not getting database connection the instant procon restarts and AdKats is enabled on some slower layers.

No issue here, restarted the procon servers about 6 times over the past week and all three layers were fine.

I get this everytime I restart my procon layer. Adkats is disabled and has to be manually enabled. Happens everytime I restart the layer

Also something else I notice is when one of your ingame admins uses a command, it kills the procon connection to the server temporarily, the command still works, but procon connection to the server drops for a few seconds.

Not sure what would cause this?

I was able to code a fix for it last night, and it appears to be stable on our servers. It's just a quick one as i didn't have much time, haven't even updated the version # yet, so let me know if it works. Code here: https://raw.github.com/ColColonClean...test/AdKats.cs

I have not seen the connection killing behavior, will look into that, but the disable-on-restart problem should be solved

Google search finds this: http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/linux-...g-request.html

It shouldn't be a problem if you are running your database locally on the VPS though.

With only two developers its slow. Me working the backend (server side), ColColonCleaner working the front end. School has started up for me as well and I haven't really worked on it for the past week, other stuff got in the way. I will TRY to get it finished for the most part by the end of the week.

I make no promises that it will be finished by the end of the week, thats just what i'm trying to shoot for.

Right now the only thing really left to do for functionality for everyone is:

  • Adding the manual ban ability
  • Setup the user account configuration
  • Player chat logs
  • Finish the player info page (last 100 chat, cmd history, basic info)

Mostly it just needs to be tweaked to make it look nicer

Heres a SS for that page.

Thanks for the understanding. We are admins of the games brett mentioned and our duties come first. And yes, a little time away from the code now and then helps a lot . It's coming guys, just a little more to go!

You can manage any bans the player has from that page as well. Admins will be able to view all guids for the player, and their IP address. Links are included for every player to 2 stat sites, 3 different cheat-o-meters, and anti-cheat inc.

You can keep the metabans plugin running when using ban enforcer, but enforcement of bans using metabans will be disabled. As of now (if you have ban enforcer enabled) the only bans metabans will detect are those sent by your auto-admins, or ones sent manually through procon. All bans issued through AdKats are never sent to procon's banlist if enforcer is enabled, that is why webadmin is needed for management.

EDIT: Your bans through cheat detector will show up in AdKats, we run one of those ourselves for TDM since admins are rarely in that server. However, ban enforcer doesn't know what issued the ban when it's pulled from procon, all it knows is that someone or something added a ban to the banlist. You will need to look at the ban reason to figure out what issued the ban.

This is a huge let down for me, isn't there a way of making it work?

I can work in an api to post your bans there.. You just lose so much information when working through procon's banlist i couldnt justify working with it.

if you guys made an send button on the webend brings problems ?

it is send from the webend not from the Plugin

example CD ban with procon go to the DB from there to the webend and from here to Metaban (if needed )

there is an API Key from Metabans then maybe you can do this on this way like you can do with GGC or i am wrong ?

I agree, which is why we were trying to use PB bans but they tend not to work very well once you get a lot in there, also not the nicest to manage.

I stream to metabans atm, really only for the sake of it, I don't subscribe to anyone else so I don't really care personally

Having a nice admin interface that people can use through a browser is far more important to us.

  • Our picks

    • Game Server Hosting:

We're happy to announce that EZRCON will branch out into the game server provider scene. This is a big step for us so please having patience if something doesn't go right in this area. Now, what makes us different compared to other providers? Well, we're going with the idea of having a scaleable server hosting and providing more control in how you set up your server. For example, in Minecraft, you have the ability to control how many CPU cores you wish your server to have access to, how much RAM you want to use, how much disk space you want to use. This type of control can't be offered in a single service package so you're able to configure a custom package the way you want it.

You can see all the available games here. Currently, we have the following games available.

      Valheim (From $1.50 USD)

      Rust (From $3.20 USD)

      Minecraft (Basic) (From $4.00 USD)

Call of Duty 4X (From $7.00 USD)

      OpenTTD (From $4.00 USD)

      Squad (From $9.00 USD)

      Insurgency: Sandstorm (From $6.40 USD)

      Changes to US-East:

Starting in January 2022, we will be moving to a different provider that has better support, better infrastructure, and better connectivity. We've noticed that the connection/routes to this location are not ideal and it's been hard getting support to correct this. Our contract for our two servers ends in March/April respectively. If you currently have servers in this location you will be migrated over to the new provider. We'll have more details when the time comes closer to January. The new location for this change will be based out of Atlanta, GA. If you have any questions/concerns please open a ticket and we'll do our best to answer them.

    • Hello All,

I wanted to give an update to how EZRCON is doing. As of today we have 56 active customers using the services offered. I'm glad its doing so well and it hasn't been 1 year yet. To those that have services with EZRCON, I hope the service is doing well and if not please let us know so that we can improve it where possible. We've done quite a few changes behind the scenes to improve the performance hopefully.

We'll be launching a new location for hosting procon layers in either Los Angeles, USA or Chicago, IL. Still being decided on where the placement should be but these two locations are not set in stone yet. We would like to get feedback on where we should have a new location for hosting the Procon Layers, which you can do by replying to this topic. A poll will be created where people can vote on which location they would like to see.

We're also looking for some suggestions on what else you would like to see for hosting provider options. So please let us know your thoughts on this matter.

    • Added ability to disable the new API check for player country info

      Updated GeoIP database file

      Removed usage sending stats

      Added EZRCON ad banner

If you are upgrading then you may need to add these two lines to your existing installation in the file procon.cfg. To enable these options just change False to True.

      procon.private.options.UseGeoIpFileOnly False
      procon.private.options.BlockRssFeedNews False

    • I wanted I let you know that I am starting to build out the foundation for the hosting services that I talked about here. The pricing model I was originally going for wasn't going to be suitable for how I want to build it. So instead I decided to offer each service as it's own product instead of a package deal. In the future, hopefully, I will be able to do this and offer discounts to those that choose it.

Here is how the pricing is laid out for each service as well as information about each. This is as of 7/12/2020.

Single MySQL database (up to 30 GB) is $10 USD per month.

If you go over the 30 GB usage for the database then each additional gigabyte is charged at $0.10 USD each billing cycle. If you're under 30GB you don't need to worry about this.

Databases are replicated across 3 zones (regions) for redundancy. One (1) on the east coast of the USA, One (1) in Frankfurt, and One (1) in Singapore. Depending on the demand, this would grow to more regions.

Databases will also be backed up daily and retained for 7 days.

Procon Layer will be $2 USD per month.

Each layer will only allow one (1) game server connection. The reason behind this is for performance.

Each layer will also come with all available plugins installed by default. This is to help facilitate faster deployments and get you up and running quickly.

Each layer will automatically restart if Procon crashes.

Each layer will also automatically restart daily at midnight to make sure it stays in tip-top shape.

Custom plugins can be installed by submitting a support ticket.

Battlefield Admin Control Panel (BFACP) will be $5 USD per month

As I am still working on building version 3 of the software, I will be installing the last version I did. Once I complete version 3 it will automatically be upgraded for you.

All these services will be managed by me so you don't have to worry about the technical side of things to get up and going.

If you would like to see how much it would cost for the services, I made a calculator that you can use. It can be found here https://ezrcon.com/calculator.html

    • I have pushed out a new minor release which updates the geodata pull (flags in the playerlisting). This should be way more accurate now. As always, please let me know if any problems show up.
